Turtle Rock Resort - Gold Coast, OregonTurtle Rock Resort is by far the best RV park we have ever stayed at. We were driving up the Southern Oregon Coast and needed a place to stay for the night. We pulled up and were immediately invited to a community barbecue that took place in the Resort’s beautifully finished common room (full kitchen, large flat screen tv, extensive library, movies…). We were treated to live music by one of the guests, a delicious potluck meal and a slide show of the surrounding area put together by another guest.

It was like finding an oasis. We were surprised once again when we went to take a shower to find a double shower head with double benches in their very clean, newly finished restrooms. There is a trail directly from the Resort to the beach which we enjoyed in the morning.

We don’t generally stay at RV parks unless our Pleasure Way van needs a night of being plugged in, preferring state parks. RV parks to us are usually just concrete slabs so the Turtle Rock Resort was a pleasant and unexpected surprise.

Don’t miss it. It’s a great place to use as a base for exploring the spectacular Southern Oregon Coast.

  1. Location indeed is nice – but stay out of there if your schedule is not fixed in concrete. We rented a cottage which was ok – not as big as the pictures on the web made it look like but nice enough. Comparing to hotel rates in the area somewhat overpriced. However, we had our three month old son with us and he didn’t do well, hence we wanted to leave after two instead the four nights reserved. The owner insisted on their zero refund policy which was not mentioned with the confirmation email and only at the time of checkin (where your credit card is charged for the full stay).

  2. While being welcomed by the friendly office staff, I noticed there was a yoga class every morning in the new recreation room. I was fortunate to be able to attend the next 4 mornings with Kachina Starr, proprietor, leading us in one of the yoga video tapes…Thank you, Kachina!
