Checkers Welcome Campground – Welcome, MN

Checkers Welcome is a nice, small campground either for overnight (right off I-90) or extended stay. The campground owners are very cordial… the campsites are roomy with electricity, water and sewer. Easy in and out too!

The facilities and common areas are always clean and well kept. The restrooms and showers are modern and clean, and there is always plenty of hot water. There is also a laundry facility on the premises and a convenience store for necessities.

They have a game room with foos ball, a video game, play station 2 and computer games. Also, a small playground, horseshoes, volleyball and “monkey balls”

Nearby is the nice little town of Welcome, MN. The town has a cafe, hardware store and taverns. The campground has limited supplies in there office/store. 2009 prices were $25 full hook-up.

We have stayed their one nite, paid for two, and could not stay
one more nite. The shower, office and laundry rooms were messy and disorderly. People watching you all the time. This was a bad experience for my family and we will not stay their again!

Van: really apologize for your not so pleasant stay. The campground has taken over new ownership and everything has been thoroughly cleaned and is cleaned every morning before opening business hours in the office. If your ever back in this area again, consider giving Checkers campground a second chance. Again I deeply express sincere apologize for your previous experience but give the new place a second chance some time 🙂
