Fort Collins/Lakeside KOA – Fort Collins, CO

As full-time RVers, we had the worst experience of our lives at the Fort Collins/Lakeside KOA campground and RV park.

In my opinion, the owner has violent temper. He became threatening and verbally abusive when my wife asked about the extra fees they charge for the children’s playground. The campground is located in an industrial zone, surrounded by gravel quarries and an active asphalt plant. Sites on the east side, with nearby stagnant water, have lots of mosquitos. Our water supply has a brown tint. Our power would go out whenever there was a lightning storm.

As a fellow full timer who has also stayed at the Fort Collins Lakeside RV park, I would like to politely disagree with you. There are no extra charges for the playground, and although the owner can be intense, I did not find him “threatening” or “verbally abusive.” Industrial zone? A construction company is located next to the park, but the other three sides are farmland, not gravel quarries, etc. As for the water, it is more like a light yellow and this is only from the minerals as they use well water. The power goes out because we are on rural electric and after living in the country in SE Kansas for 10 years let me tell you Fort Collins Lakeside has many fewer outages than I experienced there. All in all, I would have to rate our stay at the Fort Collins Lakeside Resort KOA as a 5 star.
