Black Bear Cove Resort – Benton, Tennessee

Black Bear Cove Resort is in Benton, Tennessee… just minutes away from rafting on the Ocoee River and is located on the Hiwassee River which has great class 1 and 2 rapids and trophy trout fishing.

The sites are 50 to 70 ft. deep. The bathhouses are beautiful and are heated and cooled. There is a laundry, camp store, playground, volleyball, horseshoes, and a pavilion. There are picnic tables and fire rings at every site. The campground is a great place for walks and has tons of activities. Rates are reasonable. We paid $32 a night for a full hookup.

  1. I lived at Black Bear Cove for two years on and off, mostly on from Fall 2012 to summer 2014, and it is a beautiful place. However, it went bankrupt during that time, no garbage pick-up, no cable, no internet, lights were all broken. The local bank took over and at least started to fix the streets, but when we left not much else was done. It is a shame really because it is on the prettiest piece of land on the Hiwaissee River in the county.
