Iron Horse RV Resort – Elko, NV

I feel that Iron Horse RV Resort is over-rated by being in connection with Hilton. The sites are made of sand and our site was very uneven. It is like a sand parking lot. The trains are going by all night long and rattled our windows… and horns blowing. Do not count on sleeping at all. There are tumble weeds floating by. The price was $45.00 per night for our small camping camper. From one Rv’er to another, keep on moving.

  1. We went in early Aug. 2009 and the best thing about staying at Iron Horse was that we were pretty close to all the trails to take the Rhino-ATVs (yeah, I know about the recall) out with friends. RV park was clean and fun – plenty of room for the WW Toy Hauler. Wasn’t too far to casinos either. There’s hiking trails but were too tired. Would recommend this to other AZ/UT friends and co-workers who like the outdoors and want to get away on a big road trip to NV.

  2. We stayed at Iron horse on 06/19/08, the site was gravel fairly level and had full hook-ups. We were told it had a pool and hot tub which we found to be under construction when we arrived. The pool is no larger than a large hot tube definately not room enough for swimming. We were told we could use the pool at Hilton up the hill from where we parked. Cost was $45.90 over priced for the facilitys available even if the pool was functional.
