Tiki Tom’s RV Park – Tiki Island, TX

After staying in 99% marginal to poor RV parks with the exception of a big rig park in Newport, Oregon and Disney World in Orlando, Florida, I was amazed at the quality of Tiki Tom’s when we stayed here last fall.

The roads are paved, the sites are concrete, the grass is manicured and the bathrooms are squeeky clean! The washers and dryers are even free and all for a reasonable price per night considering that you are right on the Gulf of Mexico! I know he has monthly rates but the manager slipped us into a long term site knowing that we might have to interrupt our stay. We were there a week but will surely return, soon. This a class act.

The campground includes six areas of protected grassland along with several live oyster reefs, great for bird watching. Amenities include lighted fishing piers, a marina with boat slips and an observation deck, 30 and 50 amp electric circuits at all sites, sewer and water at all sites, Free Wifi (in the clubhouse only), a clubhouse facility with bathrooms/showers and washers & dryers, and a workout room.

The manager knows all about Tiki Island and all the amenities offered in the greater Galveston area. Don’t miss this park when in the greater Houston area.

Wekiwa Springs State Park – Apopka, FL

Wekiwa Springs State Park campground is beautiful, with large level sites and plenty of shade. The park is located at the headwaters of the Wekiva River, the beautiful vistas within this park offer a glimpse of what Central Florida looked like when Timucuan Indians fished and hunted these lands.

The campground is very wooded, and most sites have a nice private atmosphere. Canoeists and kayakers can paddle along the Wekiva River and Rock Springs Run. Thirteen miles of trails provide opportunities for hiking, bicycling, and horseback riding. There is no pool, but there is a nice spring fed swimming hole that’s absolutely perfect on a hot summer day.

Wekiwa Springs State Park is not too far from area restaurants and shopping too and just one hour from most central Florida attractions. We’re planning on spending some time here this summer! Can’t wait!

Voyager RV Resort – Tucson, AZ

We made reservations to stay at Voyager RV Resort last summer because of a friends recommendation and they had a great deal… and we weren’t disappointed!

Voyager RV Resort is one of the nicest campgrounds that we’ve stayed in in the past several years. This is a huge park (over 1500 sites!) with lots of amenities.The park is well managed and the staff is friendly. Most of the campers are snowbirds and many of the sites are very well maintained and appear to be occupied by permanent RVs. This is considered to be a “destination resort”. The park is gated and has excellent security.

One of the nice amenities here is a full service restaurant right on the premises. Our campsite was large and roomy and easy to get in and out of. Amenities are too numerous to mention… a medical office, arts & crafts, live entertainment, indoor and outdoor pools/spas, shuffleboard, horseshoes, game rooms, beauty and barber shop, lounge, market… Oh, I almost forgot… WiFi wireless internet is available throughout the park!

It’s a great place for a full-timer to call home and a great place to spend the winter. I recommend this park if you’re in the area.

Last fall we spent another wonderful week at Crater Lake RV Park. We have been coming here for eight years and have always enjoyed our stay.

The park has lots of trees so the sites are shaded. The staff is friendly, the park is very clean and most of all, quiet. A good night’s sleep is important when you are out all day exploring this magnificent area.

The park is very close to the Rogue River and you can walk to a marvelous hiking trail that follows the river for miles. The scenery is spectacular and there is lots of it, most within an easy drive.

The owners and staff have always been most welcoming and helpful to us. Staying here has always been a pleasure and we will continue to come every year.

Old Mill Stream Campground is owned by Dutch Wonderland Family Amusement Park. This is a very nice, clean, and well managed park.

There are over 160 shady private camping sites, from primitive to full hook-ups. They have paved roads, great bath houses and a nice country store. Also clean, well maintained restrooms, two laundromats and two dumping stations. There is also Free WiFi available throughout campground. On the negative side… this campground does NOT have a pool. I think they want you to walk next door and pay admission to the amusement park/water park.

Old Mill Stream Campground is in a great location… right in the middle of everything, including Dutch Wonderland, Wonderland Mini-golf, Lancaster County History Museum and shopping at Tanger Outlets and Rockvale Outlets.

We camped here last summer and had a great time!

Pine Lake RV Park – Fountain, FL

We were recommended Pine Lake RV Park by fellow Canadians. We planned to stay only one night here, but were taken at the natural beauty of this park so we stayed for 5 days.

We went down by the lake and enjoyed ourselves fishing for the afternoon (we each caught two fish) and later checked out their walking trail. The grounds are neatly manicured. Another cool thing was that they actually have a full gym with exercise equipment and machines next to the laundry room.

The staff was very accommodating (to our many requests for information) and there’s a computer for use in their Recreation Room; the WiFi was working great. We ended up staying a full week and highly recommend anyone de-stress when moving north or south in Florida.

We camped here in a Motorhome last September.

Ocala RV Camp Resort – Ocala, FL

Ocala RV Camp Resort is a great park located close to I-75, EZ ON/OFF. I was impressed with the promptness displayed during our check-in and check-out.

It’s a very clean, quite campground with an Olympic size pool. The park has lots of shade due to huge oak trees. The staff was very nice and very helpful. Electric, Sewer and Water was not an issue. It’s a nice park for all age groups. All grassy spots have new sod. The store sells needy items besides propane. The campground has two ponds with lots of ducks. The recreation hall is huge. The kitchen and laundry are well maintained. It’s also close to lots of restaurants and shopping.

Overall, this is a good place for both vacationers and snow-birds. I stayed with my wife and friends for a week in December 2019. I would recommend this camp to all and probably we’ll be going there next holidays in our Motor home.

Pillar Point RV Park – Half Moon Bay, CA

Pillar Point RV Park is our favorite destination point. The park sits right on the beach and the sunsets are breath taking.

They have 49 RV sites with full hookups (electrical, water and sewer) and complimentary WiFi and Cable TV. We love the fact that we can walk or bike anywhere we want to go, shops, a beautiful harbor and incredible restaurants are close by. There are no showers or laundry facilities on site but my wife and I don’t care about that.

It’s a great RV park for children and dogs. They have seating areas in a lovely garden where you can enjoy the ocean and the beautiful sunsets.

The park is extremely clean and the two camp hosts couldn’t be more helpful or friendly. The park does not accept reservations but we have always been able to get a spot. Bring your jacket as it does get breezy in the afternoon. Love it!

Chula Vista RV Resort – Chula Vista, CA

Chula Vista RV Resort is a very, very clean park, with level sites, clean restrooms, lots of amenities and events year round. The campground is only 5-10 minutes to the beach.

The RV Resort has a continual Five Star rating from Woodall’s and high ratings from Trailer Life. The property has over 200 spaces with full hook-ups. In addition, each site is attractively bordered with well maintained landscaping to provide privacy. Around the grounds you will find plants from North America, India, The Canary Islands, China, New Zealand, and South Africa, all part of the Mediterranean.

The campground is nestled on beautiful San Diego Bay, surrounded by landscaped parks and adjacent to its own 500+ slip marina. Some of the other amenities include a general store with boutique, a picnic area with barbecues, a beautiful swimming pool and spa, laundry facilities, full restrooms, and club rooms.

We paid about $75 a night for a “Super Saver Back In Site” which is their least expensive. Their “Premium Back-In Sites” are about $95 a night. It’s a little on the expensive side, but this is a beautiful RV park in a great location. We plan on returning this summer!

Capitol West RV Park – West Sacramento, CA

We were so pleased with this park! The sites at Capitol West RV Park are very large and level, with nice clean gravel and large concrete patios.

The entire park is immaculately maintained and the management are incredibly friendly and helpful. We stayed here for 5 nights and wish we could have stayed longer.

The campground also has free wifi, that has a nice, strong signal. Some of the sites are also “satellite dish friendly”… a nice way of saying there aren’t many trees to block the satellite view.

There’s so much to do in the area, and Capitol West is so conveniently located, that we still had tons of things we wanted to do when we had to leave.

We’re definitely planning on coming back to this gem of a park.
