Seasons in the Sun Motorcoach Resort – Mims, FL

2

We recently stayed at Seasons in the Sun Motorcoach Resort and had a great time. The campground is located about 1/2 mile west of I-95, exit 223 in Mims, Florida. It’s just far enough away from I-95 so you won’t hear much road noise.

The resort consists of 5 distinct camping areas. “The Groves” is an area surrounded by citrus trees, with sites for Class A and Class C motor homes. “The Hammocks” and “The Woods” are two areas tucked away in the woods, with sites for motor homes, fifth wheels and travel trailers. “The Palms” is an area with extra large sites and a tropical feel. “Circle the Wagons” is a rally centrally located in the park but allows you the feeling of being “off to yourselves”.

All sites have hookups for sewer and water, 50/30/20 amp electric, telephone, modem and cable ready. All sites have WiFi. Amenities include private bathhouses, laundromats, tennis courts, shuffle board, nature trails, and planned activities. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly, polite and helpful.

They have a 6000 sq. ft. clubhouse that includes outdoor swimming & lap pools (heated in winter), two spas, a library area, exercise equipment, a full kitchen, TV, billiard area, and a dance floor. (Clubhouse is closed off season 5/1-10/31).

This is a nice campground to spend a few days at. Mims is a short drive from the Atlantic Ocean beaches and Kennedy Space Center, so there’s plenty to keep you occupied during your stay. I recommend Seasons in the Sun to my fellow I-95 travelers!

The campground has shady pull through full hook up sites with free cable. 30 and 50 amp service is available. With it’s proximity to I-95 and Savannah, this campground makes for a good overnight stopover, or a base for exploring Savannah and the surrounding area.

Country Oaks Campground – Kingsland, GA

Country Oaks Campground & RV Park - Kingsland, GeorgiaThis was a great campground for our overnight stay on our way to Florida. It’s a clean, safe, well maintained park that appears to cater to snowbirds just passing thru. It offers quick, easy access right off Interstate 95, exit 1. Interior roads are paved and there are large pull-thru sites throughout the park.

The campground has a nice general store surrounded by a 1500 sq. ft. porch with swings & rocking chairs. It’s absolutely perfect after a hectic day on I-95. Our site was large and level, with plenty of room.

The staff was very friendly and the property is clean and well maintained. They have a nice pond where you can just sit and watch the ducks swim by. They even have free wi-fi, which is great for us to keep in touch with our friends and family while traveling.

I recommend this campground for anyone who wants a quiet, end of day retreat after a day of Interstate driving.

John Prince Park Campground – Lake Worth, FL

0

We’ve discovered a great campground that we would like to share with our fellow snowbirds… John Prince Park Campground is owned and operated by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department. It’s a nice campground with 297 RV and tent sites scattered throughout a 48-acre campground, located in 726 acre John Prince Park.

They have 102 sites with 30 amp. electric service and 195 sites with 50 amp. electric service and sewer. 50 sites located right on Lake Osborne. They also have a boat ramp located in the campground.

They have four restroom and shower buildings, four campfire pits, three playgrounds, a petanque court, courtesy phones, and WiFi. The park and campground is really quite nice… peaceful and relaxing. A real tropical feeling, with plenty of manicured fields dotted with palm trees and wooden post fences. The facilities are clean and well maintained.

Located about 2 miles from I-95, exit 63 (6th Avenue). We definitely will be back next year!

New Green Acres RV Park – Walterboro, SC

New Green Acres Campground - Walterboro, SC | RVBuddy.com

We were pleasantly suprised when we pulled into New Green Acres RV Park after a long day of driving down I-95.  Although we weren’t expecting much we found a nice little campground that makes a great overnight stopover on our way south.

The campground is located right off I-95, exit 53. They have 106 sites with plenty of shade and they claim to have “the longest and widest pull-thru sites east of the Mississippi”. Well… they are quite large, but we’ve seen a few up north that can give them a run for their money. Sites are full hookup including cable. Amenities include a laundry, swimming pool, a playground, clean restrooms and showers, a small campstore, dump station and club meeting facilities (with full kitchen facilities). They also have wi-fi.

Rates are reasonable: $26.00 electric/water, $28.00 electric/water/sewer, $30.00 electric/water/sewer/cable, and $32.00 electric (50 amp)/water/sewer/cable.

There are several restaurants close by that you can drive to, but other than that there isn’t much in the immediate area. This campground is, however and excellent overnight facility and one that I would recommend to fellow I-95 travelers.

Cattail Creek RV Park – Skippers, VA

1

We stayed at Cattail Creek this past fall on the way to Florida. It’s about 3 miles from I-95 exit 4 and just north of the Virginia/North Carolina border. The sites are level, gravel with some have plenty of shade. The campground has about 60 sites, 20 or so of them are pull-thrus for bigger RVs.

The staff is friendly. Restrooms and showers are clean. It’s a neat, attractive and well maintained campground. Not much to do though, this seems to be more of an overnite stop for I-95 travelers.

Salem Farms Campground – Salem, CT

Campground and RV Park Reviews | RVBuddy.com

Salem Farms Campground is set in a beautiful rural area. It is family owned and operated. There are numerous activities planned throughout the day to keep the kids busy. My husband and I stayed there several years ago and recently bought a Park Home to spend our summers at Salem Farm Campground.

The family is very involved on a daily basis and always available for help or to make your stay the best that it can be. Our seven year old grandson absolutely loves it. Between playing baseball, swimming in one of two pools, hayrides, arts and crafts, basketball, volleyball and candy bingo, we never see him except for mealtimes.

We highly recommend that you don’t let another season go by without staying at this well run campground. You won’t be disappointed!

Santee Lakes Campground – Santee, SC

Santee Lakes Campground is located on Lake Marion, and only about 800 feet from I-95, exit 102 (North Santee)

They have 200 heavily shaded pull thru sites and are open all year. Pets are welcome, Their facilities include air-conditioned restrooms, laundry room, a large swimming pool, a sandy beach, playground, lighted fishing pier, boat ramp, game room (with a couple of pool tables and some video games), and miniature golf. They have free wi-fi too. Our signal was quite good from our site. They have a nice little campstore with all the basics.

They are a little close to I-95, but we were never that bothered by the traffic noise. Santee Lakes Campground is a good overnight stopover if you’re traveling thru the area. It’s clean, well maintained and comfortable.

Coastal Georgia RV Resort – Brunswick, GA

4

Coastal Georgia RV Resort is located less than one mile west of I-95, exit 29, in Brunswick, Georgia. I think we’ve stumbled upon a gem here!

This is really a great campground! It looks brand new. We stayed here overnight on a recent trip south to Florida… we hated to leave. All the resort’s roads are all paved. They have 105 sites, all 35 feet wide, with lengths ranging from 60 to 70 feet. Most of the sites are pull-thrus with full hookups including 30 & 50 amp service, tables, fire rings and grills. Cable TV and WiFi are also available. They have a conference room, 2 bath houses, 2 laundromats, a boat dock, and a small store where you can find RV supplies as well as LP gas. The entire campground is handicap accessible. The property and facilities are very clean and well maintained!

Amenities also include a swimming pool, playground, horseshoe pits, shuffleboard courts, a game room, paddle boats (rental) and lake fishing. They did quite a bit of landscaping when they built this campground. In a few years, after everything has had a chance to grow it should look really nice!

Rates are a little high for the area, but not unreasonable for what you get… $40 a nite.

Nearby is the Atlantic Ocean, Jekyll Island, St. Simon and Sea Island… and of course Historic Downtown Brunswick. This is a great campground and one that we intend to use every time we travel thru the area.

Golden Isles RV Park – Brunswick, GA

0

Golden Isles RV Park is located about one mile west of I-95, exit 29, in Brunswick, Georgia.

There’s nothing special about this campground other than the fact that it is convenient to I-95. It’s an acceptable overnight stopover, but nothing more. It’s not very inviting from the road, and the facilities are average. They have 160 sites (106 pull-thrus) on 14 acres, with some shady areas. Facilities include a pool, playground, TV lounge, 2 coin laundries, dump station, cable tv and free wi-fi. “Fran’s Place”, a small restaurant located next to the office offers homemade food at great prices.

The campground is only 7 miles from the Atlantic Ocean. Jekyll Island, St. Simon and Sea Island are a few of the attractions nearby and of course Historic Downtown Brunswick.
