Springfield KOA – Rochester, IL
We stayed at the Springfield KOA from May 22 to 26.
We reserved our site online at the KOA web. Reserved a pull through 30/50 amp site at back of campground away from playground. (as site was described on reservation website). When we arrived we were placed on back in site next to playground. I asked the owner/manager about change and was rudely told would have to pay more than quoted price for pull though if wanted to move. It stated that the online reservation price that I was charged was for the pull trough. Manager said she did not know anything about online reservation quotes and would put me where she wanted.
Most of the pull through sites remained empty during our stay, so it was not an issue of being overbooked. (Far from that! The place was mostly empty).
As it rained quite a bit during our stay, all the sites were muddy with little rock. (mostly mud). The men’s restroom has ceiling falling in on middle shower so it was shut. The drain located there was plugged up with ceiling debris. The women’s restroom was clean and in good shape.
I have been a KOA member for many years and stayed across the country. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a KOA and the worst I have ever been treated. This campground should not be under a KOA franchise.
I will post a review of this campground everywhere I can. No one should utilize this dishonest disgusting campground.
