Thunder Bay Golf Club and Resort – Hillman, MI

Thunder Bay Resort is a great stop for RV golf nuts! All rigs must be self contained but all sites have full hookups and WIFI. All sites are pull thru and you are a short walk to the club house and restaurant.

Thunder Bay Golf Club and Resort makes a great home base to play other courses in the region. The resort also has horse drawn carriage rides to view elk and enjoy a home cooked meal featuring Michigan wines. We had a great time playing golf and relaxing in this country setting.

I’ll be back and I recommend it to all RVers.

Beautiful park. Golf course is gorgeous. Full hookup and owners keep the place very, very clean. I am impressed.

Thunder Bay Golf and RV Resort is a hidden jewel in Northern MI. The RV park is a full service park with 50 amp service and is Big Rig Friendly. Our stay there was very pleasant. We played golf on the well manicured and challenging 18 hole course. The campsites are paved and are nicely separated. They offer a wonderful Elk viewing carriage ride which ends up at a beautiful remote lodge where they serve an outstanding 5 course meal with wine tasting and wine. It is prepared on site by Jan, one of the owner and an outstanding cook. Don’t miss this opportunity for a special event, it is well worth it. Everyone we met was helpful and courteous…a great Northern MI asset.

Agree completely on the golf – great course and it was just steps from our motorhome. BUT, this is w-a-y more than a home-cooked meal. We enjoyed a five-course dinner that I would describe as gourmet. And, each course was accompanied by tastings of several wines. The couple who own the Resort were our hosts – and we got very special, personal attention from them even though there were about 40 of us on this ride. After dinner they related some of the history of the resort and some of their personal experiences. They were very entertaining and you could see they both love doing this. It took over three hours, and we enjoyed every minute. The Percheron horses that draw the carriages are beautiful and it was fun to see bull elk in velvet and the babies! Time and money well-spent. Be sure to make your way to NE Michigan to take this ride.
