Fox Fire Resort – Milton, WV

Fox Fire Resort is a big-rig friendly RV park with paved interior roads and large, level sites. The resort is located on US Route 60, just off I-64 at exits 28, 3 miles west of Milton, WV.

The resort includes RV camping with 117 full hook-up sites equipped with 30 & 50 amp electric. Activities include fishing, a really nice waterslide, a spray ground, swimming pools, a jacuzzi, paddle boats, kayaks, putt golf, tennis, basketball, volleyball and holiday entertainment. They also offer hot air balloon rides!

Sites are of average size, mostly in the open but some do have shade. The sites in the back are closer to the Interstate so you will hear a little highway noise. Milton is a nice area and there are several thing to see and do while camping here. The facilities here were clean and well maintained and the staff was friendly.

Fox Fire Resort is a nice campground, although it’s a little expensive. None the less, we would camp here again if we were visiting the area.

Lazy Acres Campground - Fayetteville, NC When you want to be off the beaten track, Lazy Acres Campground is your place. The easy access from I-95 makes this campground campground a perfect rest stop for a night, or stay a while and take a break from the highway.

Every site here is level and shaded, some with concrete slabs. The showers and toilets are adequate, and the pool is immaculately maintained. There is a stocked fishing pond that requires no license. Firewood and ice are available in generous proportions.

Lazy Acres Campground is adult oriented with few amenities for children, which adds to the charm. All the attractions of Fayetteville are nearby for day trips.

Americamps KOA is a perfect stopover on your way up or down I-95. The campground is located just of I-95, exit 89 (Lewistown Road, VA802) about 10 miles north of Richmond in Ashland, Virginia.

The campground is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. There are approximately 150 sites, 33 full hook-up pull-thrus for larger rigs. The park is fairly shady with large trees scattered throughout. You’ll find the majority of campers here are just passing through, but that’s what this campground is all about… an easily accessible, clean, comfortable and secure park when you’re just passing thru the area. They also have Free cable TV and Free Wi-fi!

Americamps KOA has a small, but well stocked campstore with a limited selection of groceries and camping supplies. Amenities include a laundromat, nice pool, large pavillion, game room and playground.

The only negative… I-95 is fairly close to the campground so it gets to be a little noisy with the trucks going by at night.

The Great Outdoors RV Park - Titusville, Florida The Great Outdoors is truly a five star resort! The property is huge, with everything you can imagine located on-site. This is not a membership RV park like other Florida RV resorts. Lifestyle choices here range from RV sites to custom-built homes designed with RV-ports attached. You can stay at the resort for a night, a week, a month… or forever.

The park has gated security. There are wide paved streets and paved sites with full hook-ups. The sites are large, well maintained and landscaped. Amenities include an on-site RV repair facility, two restaurants, two pools, a bank, a golf courses, and more. The staff was wonderful and made you feel very welcome.

Bluewater Key RV Resort – Key West, FL

What an incredible campground… this is the best one in the Keys! Bluewater Key RV Resort is located at Mile Marker 14.5 in the Florida Keys (10 miles north of Key West).

The property is situated on a small peninsula with most of the sites directly on the water, complete with a private docks and tiki huts. Sites are comfortably large. The entire property is well maintained with plenty of palm trees shading many of the sites. Full hook-ups and level concrete pads.

Gated security. Great park!

Suwannee Valley Campground – White Springs, FL

Suwannee Valley Campground is located right on the Suwannee River, about 3 miles from I-75, exit 84. The park is in a rural area with trees scattered throughout. Sites are mostly grassy with some sandy areas. They have a nice climate controlled clubhouse with pool table, TV, laundry, etc.

The facilities were clean and well maintained. There’s a small playground for the kids and a fenced area for pets. A small general store on the property with basic grocery needs and camping supplies.

Clean and quiet, we’ve stayed here several times over the past two years when we need to just get away for some peace and quiet.

Whispering Pines – Cle Elum, WA

Whispering Pines is a nice, nice, nice rural RV park. Set in mature trees and landscaping, this campground is more like a state park, with sites set in among towering pines. What I really liked is the privacy was better than most as sites are set so that you don’t look into your neighbors window or bump your head on their awning.

The main road thru the park is asphalt but the sites themselves are on dirt. Not all the sites have sewer, but they offer 50/30/20 amps and the cable was wonderful with tons of stations to chose from. Bathrooms/showers sparkled and the staff was wonderful.

There was no Wifi, and as we were camped so deep in the woods, my aircard didn’t work either, but I understood from other campers they had no issue. One slight problem is that it’s right off I-90 and the traffic noise is constant and some sites were worse than others. I’m sure if you ask at the office, they will put you away from the noise if it bothers you.

Get directions because while it is easy to fine with them, without you might drive in circles. Take the Cle Elum Exit into town and turn right (south) at the second stoplight Oakes. Follow Oakes around and it will head right into the park. The office is on the left, you might want to pull into it before going into the park to register.

Olive Ridge Campground is clean, shaded and very near Estes Park, CO without all the crowds. The campground hosts have been there a long time and I can see why. They are friendly and helpful and knowledgeable about the area. I’d highly recommend this one.

Indian Point Campground, Branson, MO

A wonderful experience! Indian Point is a US Army Corps of Engineers campground.

The property is heavily wooded, and private with large spaces between campsites… it’s quiet and pleasant. None of the sites are full-hookups but quite a few have electric and water. There is a dump station on-site and very clean restrooms/showers.

Indian Point Campground is about 5 minutes from Silver Dollar City and very close to all Branson attractions. We had a very nice time here and would highly recommend it to any of our friends.

We arrived at Waters Edge RV Resort and found the office staff to be very friendly and informative.

The campground was on the lake for boating and fishing which was wonderful and it was clean and neat; however, the spaces were closer together than they appear in pictures. Had it been a busy season, we would have been disappointed with so many campers so close together. We had planned to stay from 5/10 until 5/15 but out stay was cut short. We were not informed about the underground electrical work that was scheduled right behind our 5th wheel. The office staff was also unaware this work had been scheduled. While we were gone our electrical power was turned off. We “could” have lost all our refrigerated food had we not had an automatic switch to propane to keep things cool. Since the work (involving a 3 man crew and backhoe) affected all the full hookup sites, we had to move to another campground in the area after only two nights.

Everyone was apologetic and we did find another campground nearby that was very nice. Had this been two weeks later, another campground with an opening might have been impossible to find.
