The Emerald Forest of Trinidad – Trinidad, CA

The Emerald Forest of Trinidad - Trinidad, California

The Emerald Forest of Trinidad RV Park has a spectacular setting with magnificent Redwoods trees towering around your campsite! This is a great location with a friendly staff and clean, well-maintained facilities.

It’s mostly gravel throughout the park so it can get a little dusty at times. The sites are fairly level but you might have to use a block or two for some of them. There are picnic tables and a campfire ring at all sites. They have full hook-ups, water and electric, self-contained, or a special area for pop-ups and campers in the redwoods. 70-channel cable tv is also available, plus free wi-fi.

They also have a mini-market, coin laundry, bicycle rentals, a playground, video arcade and… the world’s only pay phone in a Redwood tree stump! One thing that we found especially nice was their policy that their campground was a “vacation and overnight park only, not a mobile home park”

Other than the above, this campground has limited amenities… it’s really the forest and the trees that make this a nice place to stay.

  1. The rain and mud could not keep us away. The laundry facility came in handy when the kids were done playing in the woods. The arcade kept them occupide when it was too wet to play outside. We really enjoyed the convenience of the restrooms and showers since we were tent camping. They are very clean and the water temperature and pressure was great in the showers.
We couldn’t have had more fun, it was perfect!

  2. I agree wholeheartedly–Emerald Forest is definitely a must see. The showers are clean, the staff is friendly, and the campground is kid friendly. I would strongly recommend this campground to anyone to go out of your way to stay here. We absolutely loved it!
