Riverside Oasis – Moab, UT

Our stay was in mid August of 2009 for three nights. We had a 31 foot class C and a full size SUV as a separate vehicle. I rate this park a 4 1/2 out of 5. The RV area was typically a bit tight, but not as much as some. There were not as many people around during our stay. There were many trees and grass at the pull through sites. I recommend paying just a couple dollars more and getting one of their premium sites. It was just big enough for our RV and vehicle with no overhang, about 45 feet total. We paid $155 for three nights and 6 people.

The place was clean and the staff was friendly. The bathroom seemed clean and had air conditioning. We used the laundry room, and that went fine. There is a free garbage pick-up before 9 AM outside your RV. We had cable TV with limited channels. The wireless internet worked fine. The park itself is not right on the highway, but a little ways away. It was quiet enough.

Please remember I rate this place a 4 1/2 out of 5. I will make some additional comments however. We came in at about 10 PM in the pitch dark. I almost missed the place but I saw a lighted billboard at the last minute. It looks like you are pulling into a construction zone or gravel yard. However the campground proper is quite nice for a typical RV park with full hookup.

If you have kids, especially older ones, there is nothing to do. The RV park is north of town, so they can’t go take a walk and get ice cream. There is no pool, which I think is quite big now that we spent 3 days in Moab. However, temperatures were 10 degrees below normal for us. There is no game room and the camp store is extremely small. Mostly soda and ice cream. The Colorado River was adjacent to the park, but there was no safe place to throw tubes in unless you have a rope to keep from drifting. The tributary stream was just mud.

If I had very young kids or mostly grown ups I would stay here again. It is a quiet place for your wife to get some sleep. If I had older kids I might brave one of the noisier parks to the south that have a pool, activities, and town nearby.
