Bentsen Palm RV Park – Mission, TX

Bentsen Palm RV Park | RVBuddy.com

We have gone to Bentsen Palm RV Park for 3 years now. We rented existing large campers and one year brought our own.

If you’re lucky you can get a lot with great oranges or lemons. There is something going on at the campground every day… dances, pot luck suppers, plays, exercise classes, cards, bingo, church services, a pool, etc.

The campground has large sites to accommodate RV’s, park models or mobile homes. Each site is unique. No two are exactly the same. Your site may have palm trees, grapefruit trees, Valencia orange trees, or lemon trees. Many sites offer paved patios and parking. Sites have full hookups with either 50 amp or 30 amp electrical service, water and sewer.

Located in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley, the campground is close shopping, restaurants, state parks and nature centers. The area offers an abundance of local markets, festivals and other events.

Great people from all over the country stay here. We have made some life long friends.

Long Ridge Campground – Hiawassee, GA

I found Long Ridge Campground, a wonderful park during times of trouble with my class B camper, when my water pipes broke. The RV technician recommended I stay here.

The campground seems to be fairly new. It is very clean and picturesque. I learned that it is under new ownership/management. Well, they actually took care of my water pipes and fixed everything. It surpassed any of my expectations!

Anyway, here is the description: Long Ridge Campground has high speed fiber optic wifi throughout park. The park is close to shopping and local attractions. The price was right too.

I stayed for a whole month. I was like being with family!

North Beach Camp Resort – St. Augustine, FL

North Beach Camp Resort | RVBuddy.com

Although I wouldn’t consider this a “resort”, it’s a nice campground with the beach on one end and the intercoastal waterway on the other. North Beach is actually on Vilano Beach, located about 3 miles north of St. Augustine on Hwy A1A.

The pavement ends at the front office, from there its flat sandy roads that wind through the deeply forested campground. Palmetto’s grow between each campsite so there is plenty of privacy. In some areas of the campground the palmetto’s were so thick you could barely see to the next site. The campground is so deeply forested that the roads in the campground seem like tunnels. There is free wifi throughout the campground, and it could be easily picked up inside our motorhome. They also had cable, and sewer hookups.

The facilities were clean and well maintained. We camped at a site in one of the older sections, so some of the facilities were a little dated, but still clean. There is a newer bathhouse in a newer sections by the riverfront, but we didn’t get a chance to check it out. All the bathhouses have laundry rooms which were also clean and well maintained. There is a game room in the main office as well as a bath house and laundry room. They also have a small campstore with all the basics. They have a big pool with a huge hot tub.

The campground was fairly busy when we were there, but it still was quiet and very laid back. We loved it!

Bay View Campgrounds – Bourne, MA

We go camping at Bay View every year and it’s always a great visit. It’s immaculate everywhere within the grounds, from the streets to the restrooms. I actually brushed some gravel onto the street once to see what would happen and the maintenance crew swept it up within minutes. It’s one of the only campground on Cape Cod that allows campfires.

My children have always enjoyed their visits. Because we go back each year, they have made many friends in the park because there are many seasonal families there. They have about 400 campsites of which about 150 are transient sites. You can come in anything from a tent or pop-up to a 45′ Motorhome. They do have some sites that are near the highway but if the noise will bother you all you have to do is ask to be away from the road.

They have a small outdoor restaurant that serves great food very quickly. They also have a store with grocery items and an ice cream shop. Their amenities include 3 pools, a rec hall, 2 playgrounds, 2 basketball courts, a tennis court, volleyball court, horseshoes and more. There’s also activities each week for my kids, my husband and myself, as well as a dance each week.

We would highly reccomend this campground to anyone looking for a quiet, enjoyable vacation.

Buffalo KOA – Buffalo, WY

Sadly, my family booked a reservation for today at Buffalo KOA. We generally only stay at KOA’s as we have found them reliable. We are worn out traveling with my parents, in their 70’s, and my two little ones 9 & 11 from Oklahoma.

We went to check in and the lady, who was checking us in, said our reservation was for tomorrow night. My dad went to the RV to retrieve the confirmation and it showed reservations for tonight. The lady who was helping us pulled in the owner for help regarding this issue. The owner NEVER once apologized. She said they did not have the appropriate opening tonight for our needs and honestly made us feel like we did something wrong, making statements that we must have called and changed the reservations, which we did not. We booked this in May. The lady originally helping us, not the owner, was actually really sweet and called and got us an appropriate spot at a location down the street, which wound up being $40 cheaper. This sweet lady was the only one working at this KOA who apologized. The owner even made the statement, which honestly went all over me, that “she hopes we don’t hold it against her and she won’t hold it against us.” I thought it was extremely unprofessional and rude and we will NOT be encouraging friends who RV to stay here and certainly will never stay at this location again.

I very rarely post negative reviews but the way this lady spoke to my dad and to me was frankly unacceptable.

Robbin’s Nest RV Park – Bandon, OR

I’ve waited several days before writing this review, because I wanted some perspective after the experience we had at Robbin’s Nest RV Park.

Right up front I’ll tell you that we were evicted from this park with only 5 days left on a month long stay. We have been RVers for 6 years now, and have never been evicted from any other RV Park.

Now, about the park – Four years ago we stayed here for a week and it worked out well. Because of that, we booked again for this year (2020). Upon arriving, we noticed that the maintenance in the park had regressed, with weeds growing up through old picnic tables, pot holes in the roads, trash laying next to their adjoining bookstore and old, unused signs that were scattered throughout the park. All terrible eyesores. We also noticed that the park had become more of a trailer park than an RV park, with most of the lots filled with full-timers.

We were handed two pages of rules, and told that we must drive 5 mph inside the park. No problem. We spent 3 weeks creeping along, watching the speedometer of our truck as we came and left on our daily adventures around Bandon. We were VERY careful to honor this request and abide by this rule. Then the notices started coming and were stuck to our RV door – WARNING:SLOW DOWN.

With a week left on our stay, we slowly pulled into our site and went inside. Suddenly, there was a pounding on our door. Standing outside our rig was the owner (husband) screaming at me and telling me to slow down. I asked him how fast I was going. “Too fast,” was his reply. The next morning the wife came to our door with an eviction letter telling us that many of the residents had seen us speeding though the park (not true), and that we were endangering others. We were given until the next morning to pack up and leave. It became apparent as the weeks passed, that we were not wanted in the park.

We drove up from California where the coronavirus had hit another bad stretch. The owners used the bogus speeding violation to kick us out and placate the residents. In my opinion, this park is toxic and the owners are angry, bitter and rude. There are much better choices in Bandon than this park, which, in my opinion has become trashy and neglected. Think twice before booking here. The fees may tempt you to stay here, but it’s not worth the cost in emotional stress.

Daytona Beach RV Resort – Port Orange, FL

We had a very pleasant stay here. The campground is very clean and well maintained. It’s in a great location, close to the Atlantic Ocean beaches and the Daytona Speedway. Orlando is only about an hour away via I-4.

There are some nice amenities including a heated pool, a large clubhouse, and a nicely stocked campstore. Their camping cabins a cute too! They have community game nights, bingo, line dancing, happy hours, karaoke and they are one of the few RV parks in Florida to still allow campfires.

There are 230 full-hookup sites, mostly on sandy grass, with concrete patios and picnic tables. The bathrooms and laundry room were very clean.

A word of advice… it gets very crowded on race weekends and when there are special events in Daytona, so expect it to get a little noisy. Other than that it’s a great little campground.

I have been coming to Bentsen Palm RV Park for 6 years and it is a wonderful place.

The campground is set in and old orange orchard with lots to do. Their sites are large and some are drive through. There is lots to do in the park from movie nights to cards and so much more. They put in a new swimming pool and 2 tubs this year.

Come join the fun and great people here.

Suncoast RV Resort – Port Richey, FL

We stayed at Suncoast RV Resort in May-July, 2019 and loved it.

It was peaceful, picturesque and very well maintained. The managers are outstanding and made us feel at home. The park is on the smaller side… one of the things we liked. It’s not sitting on concrete with a tree here and a shrub there, like some newer and bigger parks we looked at.

The campground is pet-friendly but we saw no waste or trash anywhere. The pool is sparkling and you can do your laundry while you swim and listen to music or read by the pool. There are beautiful old oaks, lots of shade, parrots and cardinals, squirrels and flowers. We saw no wild things, but it is a wooded RV park.T

Suncoast RV Resort is a minute off Rt 19 and near everything, but it’s quiet and safe.

We can’t wait to go back.

Galveston Island RV Resort – Galveston, TX

Galveston Island RV Resort | RVBuddy.com

It was my birthday weekend, and I had a couple of days off, so we spent a five-day weekend at Galveston Island RV Resort, just to get away from the house for a few days.

This is a very, very nice park, clean and well-kept, with generously-sized, level concrete pads and plenty of room between the sites. Neither my husband or I took in the pool, hot tub, or lazy river, but they looked popular and well-tended.

The staff was very friendly at check-in, and we even got a nice thank-you email after our departure. Wi-fi was loud and strong, and only a few periods of slowdowns.

The park is close to the beach, and far enough from Galveston proper that it wasn’t at all crowded. Yes, it’s a little far from a grocery store, so plan ahead. But frankly, “farther from civilization, but still civilized” was exactly what we were looking for… and Galveston Island RV Resort fit the bill perfectly!
