The Forsyth Georgia KOA is a nice campground for our overnight. It’s an easy on and off Interstate 75.

The sites in the front of the park have tall pines for shade, but we were in the newer back area in the full sun. Site info is for those sites: Sites are fairly close, have picnic table and fire chimneah. The sites go downhill, so each site is a bit lower than the one next to it. There is not much room between RVs and drop-off when connecting utilities, so watch your step.

The hot cookies delivered to our site was a nice touch, as was the escort to our site, but we had to wait about 10 minutes for him to come get us. WiFi was bad, but the cable was good.

We didn’t use the pool or bath house/laundry so we can’t comment of their conditions.

Desert Gardens RV Park – Florence, AZ

We visited Desert Gardens RV Park again last year for 3 months in a 5th wheel.

The campground is beautiful. There are many natural and ancient Saguaro Cactus, mesquite, palo verde trees and the oldest grove of ancient Cholla in all of Arizona we’ve been told. They have 2+ miles of well groomed walking paths and benches for resting surround many, many acres of this and other parts of the Sonoran Desert.

We were kept very active with various classes in painting, quilting, gourd carving or woodworking. In addition there was entertainment for bingo, cribbage, poker, potlucks, group outings, disc golf, bocce ball, Zumba and Aerobics and just about anything anyone wanted to try.

The park is quiet and exceptionally clean with very large sites and excellent water. Last season we stayed on a 60′ x 70′ deluxe site on the perimeter of the park which allowed us to view the natural desert from our rear window. There are beautiful sunsets and some mountain views too. We would highly recommend this park to other nature lovers. Wifi is good and well as the cell phone service.

The swimming pool and hot tub are immaculate too. On cold days or inclement weather, we chose not to use those facilities but rather enjoyed watching the water aerobics class do their exercises. We did enjoy the great fitness center and game room with pool tables and card games.

San Bernardino RV Park – San Bernardino, CA

San Bernardino RV Park is a quiet, well-maintained, gated campground. The sites are all level… and the large, full-hook-up, back-in site that we had offered plenty of room for our large (43′) motorhome and towed car (CR-V).

The facilities were all immaculately clean and obviously well cared for. The park is gated, with paved interior roads. They have an on-site laundry, restrooms, and a fenced, lighted pet area. The park manager was friendly, helpful, and always available.

San Bernardino RV Park is centrally located, with quick, easy access to the 215, 10 & 210 freeeways. Nearby shopping includes Costco, Sams Club, Starbucks, Chipotle, Panera Bread
and the many other shopping & dining options.

There were several other guests here who were patients at the Loma Linda Medical Center who said that the park offered a discount, which is a nice thing for them to do.

Overall, had a really nice stay here… and will definitely come back to stay again!

Riverbend RV Resort – Lake Toxaway, NC

If you are looking for a quiet, friendly, fun campground, Riverbend RV Resort is your place. We were looking for a cooler climate locale and just happened to find this campground.

The hosts are extremely amiable and the seasonal campers, who had already discovered this gem, are very friendly. It’s a beautifully landscaped place, with a creek and waterfalls that run through it. The facilities are immaculate. Social activities include potluck dinners, happy hours, host cookouts, grill outs, card games and golf outings.

This campground is geared towards adults, but families are welcome. We planned to stay a month and may end up staying three. Of all the campgrounds we have ever stayed, this is by far our favorite!

We weekend camped at Salem Farms Campground twice last year. The owners are great people. They work very hard for their campers.

The park is clean and well maintained and the bathrooms are awesome. Each site is approximately 40 x 50 ft., and a minimum of approximately 2000 sq ft. All sites have a picnic table and fire ring. Also each site includes free cable tv and wi-fi. They have new playgrounds and a snack bar and ice cream stand. The snack bar menu includes hot dogs, chili dogs, hamburg’s, Philly Steak and Cheese, popcorn chicken, fried dough, onion rings, french fries, mozzarella sticks, and has weekly specials. Yum!

They have an extensive activity schedule that includes arts and crafts, bingo, dances, movie nights and hayrides. Their amenities include two pools, two playgrounds, mini-golf, tennis, horsehoes, nature trails, vollyball, shuffleboard, basketball, a petting zoo, bocce ball and ping pong!

The campground is a short drive from lots of attractions including Mohegan Sun and Foxwood’s Casinos, Tantaquideon Indian Museum, Mystic Seaport, and the Mystic Marinelife Aquarium

Salem Farms Campground is truly a family park. Family owned and operated.

Creekfire RV Ranch – Savannah, GA

Creekfire RV Ranch is a large new park that is expanding.

The sites are nicely spaced with young shrubs between sites. They have pull thru and back-in, some concrete and some gravel level sites. The sites are long and connections are convenient. The back-in sites are along the outside with swamp/heavy forest behind them.

The bugs were bad in late May in our back-in site. There is a large lake where you can fish and kayak or just watch the alligators… but DO NOT FEED THEM!

They have a nice pool and a kids pool, hot tub, and a covered pavilion with tables, TV, pool, darts, foose-ball and corn hole. There is also Boncee ball, tennis court and basketball hoop. They rent golf carts and kayaks. Showers are individual bathrooms which were nice, but not too plentiful and a walk away from the 2 Tent sites at the edge of the lake.

The laundry room has 6 sets of machines in a small room and some of the front-loading washers smelled bad and had stuff on/under the seal. I was in there alone, but more than 2 people and it would have been very crowded. Hopefully as they expand they will plan more showers and another laundry.

We were in the very back of the park (105) and WiFi was VERY MARGINAL, even with a repeater 1 site away. I heard it was good enough for streaming closer to office, but I didn’t try it anywhere but our site.

There is a restaurant onsite, and friends who stayed here before us said it was really good, but the night we went it was HORRIBLE!! My Cuban sandwich had no mustard or pickle, pulled pork nachos were cold in the middle, chicken Caesar salad had no anchovies, no croutons, and they asked what kind of dressing she wanted. Blue cheese burger was so salty it was inedible. AND it took 1.5 hours to get this awful food! We complained, but we’re not offered any discount or incentive to try it again – just excuses.

Historic Savannah is an easy drive away, and if we come back to the area, we would stay here again.

Campers Cove RV Park – Alpena, MI

Campers Cove is a great campground located on beautiful Thunder Bay River and Lake Wynah. The park has waterfront sites, shaded sites, canoe and kayak trips, miniature golf, horseshoes, shuffleboard, basketball, volleyball, excellent fishing. The facilities were clean and well maintained.

All sorts of watercraft are available for rental here… canoes, kayaks, pontoon boats, fishing boats and paddleboats. You can spend the day with the whole family enjoying a canoe or kayak trip, ranging from 2 1/2 to overnite trips. Or you can fish right from the shore or from a boat. Walleye, large and small mouth bass, pike, perch, croupie and trout.

Campers Cove is a great place to spend a few days fishing and just taking it easy. We are planning on returning this summer!

RVacation RV Park – Selma, NC

RVacation RV Park is located in Selma, North Carolina right off I-95, Exit 98. It’s a great place for an overnight stop – we were headed from Pennsylvania to Central Florida.

The campground office is open until 7:00 pm – helpful when you prefer to stop later or if you need a last minute place due to bad weather. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. Prices were reasonable – $29 – $49; the more expensive sites are 50 amp pull thrus designed for the bigger rigs. In a thunderstorm it was worth the extra money for their ease of access and hookup.

Because of the proximity to the highway and train tracks there is some traffic noise and train noise but it was nothing that impeded us from getting a great nights sleep. We will not hesitate to add it to our short list of places for our “half way there” stop.

Toutle River RV Resort – Castle Rock, WA

I recently rented a motorhome and thought I would tour Washington State. I stopped in at Toutle River RV Resort on I-5 exit 52 on the reccomendation of a buddy of mine. He was there this last summer and said the fishing would be great in the fall. The fishing indeed was great and this campground was over the limit.

What can I say other than it’s fairly new, with easy pull-thru sites for novice rv’ers like myself, and tons of activities within the park and made a great place to stay while I explored the mountains, lakes, and rivers surrounding this resort.

Their Club House is located across the courtyard from their General Store. The Club House features an 11,000 square foot outdoor patio with a large pool and spa. The swimming pool is heated and open from May to September. The pool and separate spa are situated next to private restrooms and showers.

The Clubhouse has it’s own private river rock fire pit with benches, perfect for just relaxing. They also have a poolside patio that has lounge chairs and umbrella tables.

Their general store is located next to the Club House and Pool/Spa Area. They carry basic groceries, RV supplies, beer, wine, camping supplies, movie rentals, propane, ice, and firewood.

What a great campground! Thank you Toutle River RV Resort for a wonderful week.

Avalon Landing RV Park – Pensacola, FL

Avalon Landing RV Park is one of the nicest campgrounds we have stayed at in a long time.

They have very, very clean bathrooms and laundry. The pool is small but it was right on he water and it had a great view. Some of the sites are along the road but the campers we talked to on those sites said the noise was not bad at all.

I can not say enough good about the staff. We came in a little after 7:00 pm and even though the office was closed, one of the managers was walking his dog and helped us get backed into our site. They gave us a great idea for a nice Bar-b-que dinner. We even saw them there that night. When we registered the next morning, the lady gave us great suggestions for things to do and maps to avoid high tolls.

We were originally only going to stay there for 2 nights but extended it to a week. If you are in a motorhome they have some nice pull-in sites that face the water, with nice views. We will definitely stay with them again.
