Distant Drums RV Resort – Camp Verde, AZ

Distant Drum RV Resort | RVBuddy.com

We stayed at Distant Drums RV Resort for a week upon our arrival in Arizona last February to be near the Cliff Castle Casino. It turned out that it was convenient to just about everything – from Sedona to Phoenix.

The RV park looked brand new! Clean cement pads, beautifully landscaped with native plants and crushed red rock. The clubhouse was beautifully decorated, very clean… the bathrooms, laundry room, showers, gym, patios, pool area were all pristinely clean. The staff was constantly working to keep the sights just beautiful. The spaces were large and comfortable, the park was large and a great place to walk. There was a lovely clean dog park too!

We absolutely loved our stay – it had everything you could possibly want in a resort but at an RV Park price! We will definitely return here in our travels. We are full-timers and stayed in a 40 food diesel pusher.

If you’re looking for a campground close to the theme parks and located near dozens of restaurants, shops and services… this is the perfect place.

Located just off I-4 on US 192 in Kissimmee, Tropical Palms is hidden away on 69 well landscaped acres in the heart of vacation country.

They offer back-in and pull thru sites with full hookups including cable… and the sites are really nice!

Amenities include a pool, cafe, shuffleboard, bocce ball, horseshoes, live entertainment, social events, and much more. They also have laundry facilities, a store, a clubhouse and lots of activities for the family.

What’s really great is it’s location… 4 miles from Walt Disney World Resort, 11 miles from the Orange County Convention Center and within walking distance from Old Town and Fun Spot. Plus, they also provide theme park ticket sales on-site.

Rusnik Family Campground – Salisbury, MA

Rusnik Campground | RVBuddy.com

Rusnik Family Campground is a beautiful spot. There are lots of trees throughout the property. Most sites are bordered by trees and shrubs giving a nice buffer zone between sites.

They have a nice pool (open 10:00 am – 8:00 pm), a huge baseball field, shuffle board, horseshoes, a basketball court, a playground for the little ones, and mini golf.

I absolutely love their rules… The Recreation Hall closes at 9:45pm and all children must be on there site by 10:00 pm. A 10:00 pm to 8:00 am quiet time is strictly enforced, and all campfires must be out by 11:00 pm. This is not a campground where you can raise hell, it’s a nice, quiet, peaceful place to chill out and relax.

If you do feel the need to raise hell, the campground is only minutes to Salisbury State Beach, Newburyport, Plum Island, Hampton Beach and lots of shopping and restaurants.

Pets are welcomed here too! We’ll be seasonals next year!

Fries New River Trail RV Park – Fries, VA

Fries New River RV Park | RVBuddy.com

We have stayed at Fries New River Trail RV Park on numerous occasions this year and can honestly state that it is one of the nicest RV parks we’re ever stayed in. When we camped at other parks in the area we were always ready to leave after a couple of days. But there is just something very unique about this “special little park in the mountains” and the small town of Fries!

Fries New River Trail RV Park is located in a narrow valley between two mountains. The park is very well laid out with beautiful landscaping and grounds. Each RV site has a great natural view instead of seeing the back of another RV when you are sitting under your awning – what a difference! Each site has 50amp service, cable TV with plenty of channels, water, sewer, and I’ve had no trouble accessing their wireless Internet service from any site in the park.

The park has a small creek running through it and a large water wheel that provides a wonderful waterfall sound. The park is fairly new and the owners continues to make improvements in the landscaping and facilities. Though it is small it can accommodate large RVs.

This is probably the quietest and most peaceful park we’ve ever stayed in. We often find ourselves just staying around the park and relaxing instead of feeling the need to leave the park as we often do at other campgrounds.

The New River Trail is very close by which is good for biking or walking. The New River is just beyond the trail and since it is shallow, it is very good for tubing or just playing in the water. And the fishing is good in this area of the river as well. I almost forgot to mention that the trail is an old railroad bed with beautiful scenary that I think is about 57 miles long.

I can’t close this review without stating that one of the best things about this park is the team who owns and operates the park themselves – what a refreshing change! They have always been extremely helpful and I’ve never seen anything other than a very pleasant attitude from them and I’ve never heard anything bad about them or the park from anyone in the area.

The park is only minutes from Galax, NC and easily accessible from Interstate 77.

Beatty RV Park – Beatty, NV

Beatty RV Park is located just north of the mining town of Beatty, Nevada, and about two hours north of Las Vegas. Beatty is 6 miles from the north enterance of the Death Valley Park, also 20 minutes north of the Armogosa Sand Dunes. The park had the feeling of old Nevada.

The Beatty RV park has large pull-thru sites as well as 50 amp service. We found the on site staff to be friendly and informative. The bathroom are clean and adequate. Also on site is a large recreation room. The Wi-fi service was included in the nightly rate and connected instantly.

The park property backs up to BLM (Federal Government Bureau of Land Management) land for those wishing to go rock hounding or mountain biking.

We would recommend the park to those traveling US-95 thru Beatty Nevada.

Osceola City RV Park – Osceola, MO

Campground and RV Park Reviews | RVBuddy.com

Osceola City RV Park is a well maintained campground, owned and maintained by the city of Osceola. The property has both gravel and paved inner roads. There are about 30 spots with 30 amp service, sewer and water hook-ups.

The tenting section was a very nice grassy area but had no extras. All campsites had a fire pit including the sites in the tenting area. The restroom facilities are average, clean but nothing to brag about. The rates were around $20.00, which seems like an extremely good deal.

The town of Osceola was within walking distance and the campground is located right on a lake. We saw 10+ lb. catfish and were told they have been caught over 50 lb!

This makes a nice overnight stop or it could be an enjoyable week or two place to do some fishing. I recommend it!

Campground and RV Park Reviews | RVBuddy

Flory’s Cottages and Camping is a smaller but very nice facility in the heart of Amish country and Lancaster, Pennsylvania tourist attractions.

The campground has large back-in sites that can handle any size rig. They have full hookups including cable and wi-fi. The bath houses are very nice. The office staff was very nice and helpful. The sites have great water pressure and strong electric service. They do not have a pool and campfires are not allowed.

We were there in mid-November 2010 and would use them again!

Drummer Boy Camping Resort – Gettysburg, PA

Drummer Boy Camping Resort is a beautiful park. It’s very large. They have over 400 sites for seasonal and short term rental. They also have cabins, cottages and lofts.

There are 2 pools and rental golf carts. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained. They also make reservations for Gettysburg battlefield tours and there is a shuttle that takes you to the downtown area. We went mid week in the summer and the stock of groceries in the small store were very low… no milk or bread.

We camped here in 2019 and would go again. I think that this is the nicest park in Gettysburg.

We feel fortunate to have found McLear’s Cottage Colony and Campground.

Our scheduled site did not work out and they had several sites to chose from when we arrived. They were helpful and friendly on check-in and throughout our stay. Everyone was professional and courteous. The sites were flat and spacious with more than enough room for all our camping gear.

We had beautiful sunrises from our campsite and sunsets from the rented boat, as we finished our days fishing. This is a very well run operation on Black Lake in Hammond, NY
