Victorian RV Park – Sparks, NV

Victorian RV Park | RVBuddy.com

We spent 2 nights just recently at Victorian RV Park in Sparks, Nevada.

Every campsite has a real lawn with flowers, bushes, etc. So there is plenty of shade which is nice once the summer heat starts in. When we stayed last summer they had some 60′ pull-through spaces with 3 different spots for you to hook up your dump hoses.

This stay we found that more updating had been done… restroom/showers, laundry room and mini-mart. The mini-mart is like a neighborhood convenient store amply stocked with RV supplies and groceries. Free coffee and freshly baked cookies are served all day seven days a week. What was very nice is their Recreation Park – BBQ grills, fire pit, horseshoe pit, 2-hole putting green, picnic benches, bike rental, board games and weekly planned activities coordinated by the parks Activity Director.

The park is clean and well maintained. The location is very convenient. It’s located just off I-80 and within walking distance from the casinos and the Sparks Marina. The staff is professional, courteous and accommodating.

Victorian RV park is a great place to stay! We’ll be back!

Buckboard Crossing National Forest Campground – Green River, WY

RVBuddy.com

Buckboard Crossing National Forest campground, is not to be confused with the privately-owned Buckboard Campground and Marina located adjacent to the National Forest Campground.

They have decently sized sites, water, electric, some pull-thrus, wind/sun shelters.  The bathrooms consist of basic concrete block structures, but as clean as can be expected. There is a Ranger station on site, but it was not manned during the two days we were there.  They have an on-site camp host.

The marina next door has a small camp store. It’s located right on the Flaming Gorge/Green River.

Lehman’s Lakeside RV Resort – Marengo, IL

Lehman’s Lakeside RV Resort is an excellent place to stay. There is a beach, clean restrooms and showers, horse shoe pits, paddle boats canoes fishing and so much more to do.

We had a comfortably large site and it was beautiful. The camp sites here are large and level and most are easy to get in. We love this place because you can camp year round and we love snowmobiling in the winter at the campground.

We have met some great lifetime friends here and plan on staying a while.

Hidden Valley Campground – Jamestown, NY

Campground and RV Park Reviews | RVBuddy

After several seasons of spending our Summers at Hidden Valley Campground, Jamestown, NY we decided the new management, Mikki and Jessica, were not for us.

Many, many changes…not for the benefit of the campers, have taken place since they took over. You are NOT allowed to receive mail or packages there anymore. As we were told “we are too busy to take care of your mail”. We pay for 5 1/2 months a year there and do not have a home base so we have our mail forwarded to where we are. We have been told this is not their problem and when mail has arrived Jessica places a return to sender label on it! Wow!

We were getting our internet at an amazing price but were told they are now going to offer internet, at a much higher price, and as of the beginning of July, all lines that do not belong to them were going to be cut. Many activities were canceled “due to the lack of camper participation”. Poor management and management attitude ?

Once we decided to leave we were badgered to clear our site so it could be rerented. We paid through the end of the season and we were going to keep the site until our lease was up. No double dipping on renting. More than 25 families left this season after many years at Hidden Valley…it’s not due to anything but the new management. The others who left have personally told me their stories but that’s for them to tell. Living in a small community makes it hard to openly complain but people need to know the truth.

If you have a choice…NEVER stay at Hidden Valley. It’s a beautful campground that is being ruined by Jessica who clearly needs to take customer service classes and never deal with the public.

Twin Tamarack Campground – New Hampton, NH

Twin Tamarack Campground | RVBuddy.com

Twin Tamarack is a family operated campground located near the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire in New Hampton.

It’s a quiet, well maintained park just far enough away from the traffic and crowds of the town of Laconia yet close enough to be convenient. This campground is mostly wooded with plenty of shade. The campground staff were very friendly and the facilities clean and well maintained. This park has seasonal sites as well as short stays, 2 restrooms, each with hot showers, camp store (ice, wood, groceries, camping supplies, and gifts), dumping station, and a large laundry facility.

This trip was the second time we have stayed here without reservations and were lucky enough to be given a site. The swimming pool was super clean and not too crowded as well as their beach and boating facilities.

We’ve been making Twin Tamarack a part of our summer vacations tour now for over couple of years and this is the 2nd time we’ve stayed here. Every experience here has been great!

The wife and I are looking forward to our trip there next year for this great experience and shopping at all the Factory Outlets.

Fort De Soto Park – Tierra Verde, FL

Fort De Soto Park | RVBuddy.com

Tierra Verde is really just south of St. Petersburg and directly on the Gulf of Mexico. Actually I shouldn’t be recommending this park as we are regulars and have a hard time getting sites here.

The campground at Fort De Soto park is gorgeous with private type sites (foliage) some right on the water and others just off. Electricity and water only with dump stations and a nice little campground store. It is a Pinellas County Park… and very reasonably priced with limits on your length of stay. Big rigs should use caution as some pretty tough turns getting into and too the sites, but once you’re in, it is quiet and unique to the old Florida.

If I was rating it I would have to give it almost a five star rating (no sewers). Raccoons are plentiful so keep your food out of sight.

Kirk Creek Campground – Big Sur, CA

Kirk Creek Campground | RVBuddy.com

Kirk Creek Campground is a hidden gem. It’s a small, quiet campground on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Big Sur California

Campsites all have a view, though some are short on length. We did fine in our 28ft motorhome and guests were just able to get their car on the site as well.

Sites were clean and the views outstanding with the sounds of the ocean. We did find that there were a few raccoons in the campground but if you just make sure you don’t leave anything outside that would tempt them they won’t be a problem.

We stayed three nights, canceling our stay at another campground so we could stay here an extra night.

Thunder Bay Golf Club and Resort – Hillman, MI

Thunder Bay Resort | RVBuddy.com

Thunder Bay Resort is a great stop for RV golf nuts! All rigs must be self contained but all sites have full hookups and WIFI. All sites are pull thru and you are a short walk to the club house and restaurant.

Thunder Bay Golf Club and Resort makes a great home base to play other courses in the region. The resort also has horse drawn carriage rides to view elk and enjoy a home cooked meal featuring Michigan wines. We had a great time playing golf and relaxing in this country setting.

I’ll be back and I recommend it to all RVers.

Enota Mountain Retreat – Hiawassee, GA

Campground and RV Park Reviews | RVBuddy.com

The Enota Mountain Retreat is highly recommended if you want a quiet atmosphere surrounded by National Forest.

It is nestled between mountains with numerous streams and waterfalls running right through the campground. There are cabins, RV sites (full hookups) and tent sites. There is a playground, fishing pond and an organic farm where fresh vegetables in season are available for purchase plus numerous farm animals for children to visit. Some meals are available on weekends.

The Lodge has a small store and native American jewelry and crafts for sale. This is a very conservation oriented park with a friendly and helpful staff. Numerous attractions are close by including Brasstown Bald Mountain (highest peak in Georgia), Georgia Mountain Fair, Alpine Helen and numerous natural scenic areas and hiking trails. It is a not-for-profit organization and there is no sales tax.

Jellystone Texas Wine Country is a great campground.

There are lots of activities for kids. Campground amenities include a swimming pool, hot tub, kids game rooms with pool tables, ping pong, games, air hockey and an adults game room with pools tables and shuffleboard. Their outdoor playground has a jumping pillow, basketball and an indoor fitness center.

There are movie nights and activities for kids throughout the day. The facilities are awesome and very clean. There are also cabins to rent and tent sites as well as full hook up clean rv sites with picnic tables fire pits, free wifi and cable.
