Lake Aire RV Park and Campground – Charleston, SC

Lake Aire RV Park and Campground was a beautiful park located just south of downtown Charleston, South Carolina.

Our kids really enjoyed the playground and pool. We enjoyed a nice quiet night by the campfire. I understand the owners are continually working to improve the park. The park also had FREE Wireless.

We will be returning. We have been to all the parks in the Charleston area and this one was the friendliest, cleanest, and still “natural.”

The gravel drive is a little rough coming in. At check-in there are signs everywhere saying “No Refunds” and “No Refunds for early departures”. I got a little nervous since I couldn’t see the campground yet. The campgound was clean and nicely wooded. The lake was a small pond. I’m not one that likes to stay at campgrounds with permanent residents, but I got the misfortune of parking next to one. That was the worst part. Every morning at 5:30am this lady would start a hacking cough that would last till 9am. The man was always yelling at the dog even though I never heard the dog. And there was all kinds of junk around their trailer. Also, there was a train running all hours of the night that was disturbing. They did have clean showers, a pool, pond release fishing, and mostly pull-through sites. The owners were nice. Wifi was intermittent. If it wasn’t for our next door neighbors and the train, this place would be great.
