Auntie M’s RV Park – Jasper, TX

Campground and RV Park Reviews | RVBuddy

Auntie M’s RV Park is a very nice campground located in close proximity to Lake Sam Rayburn.

The management was very friendly and helpful. The concrete slabs made setting up very easy. The park was very well maintained. Also it was close to boat launches, restaurants and near by town.

Campsites are 30’x50′ with 18’x40′ concrete slabs, 30 & 50 AMP hookups, boat parking, trash, water, sewer, laundry room, electricity, and more!

Rates were reasonably and would highly recommend Auntie M’s RV park to anyone.

Penns Creek Campground – Millmont, PA

Unfortunately I had to cancel my reservation last minute due to a medical emergency. I had to leave a message on voicemail to cancel my reservation. I truly was looking forward to going to this campground because of all the wonderful reviews about it being very relaxing and being by water.

Jason returned my call and informed me that none of my money would be returned because I canceled last minute. I informed Jason again that it was a medical emergency and I can forward a doctors letter if need be. Jason told me not to bother he said if he made an exception for me he would have to make an exception for all.

In life medical emergencies happen. People get sick and people get hurt. I understand the rules set forth but there should be exceptions for medical emergencies.

I would never recommend making going to Penns Creek campground.

You would think that coming off of such a horrible year that there would be some compassion and some understanding but not at Penns Creek Campground. Stay away from this place.

Denton Ferry RV Park – Cotter, AR

Campground and RV Park Reviews | RVBuddy

We were very excited to camp at Denton Ferry. We reviewed the website and deliberated over which site we would like. We made our reservation in early March for a mid-June trip.

It was a 6 hour drive from our home in Oklahoma. We had received updated emails from the campsite about our stay – which we read top to bottom. It even had good reviews on some of the websites for cleanliness of the campgrounds and the restrooms.

Imagine our dismay on the day we arrive that the site we chose had a camper there. True, Denton Ferry reserves the right to put you in another spot, but then what is the point of making a reservation? We were sent an email about the switch which was sent the morning of our arrival after we had been on the road for 45 minutes. An attendant did come to chat with us and assured us that things would work out. I never saw that person again.

The customer service was poorly lacking. They were aware of the need to switch us a day before, but rather than call us to explain, they sent an email. When we arrived no one was in the office and a sign had a number to call – which I received a voicemail. After our stay I received a text asking me to rate them – I gave them a 1 on a scale of 1 to 5. Shortly after the owner called me. Not to say how sorry he was but to bully and berate me and tell me that I must be a sad and sorry person to rate them a 1 just because they moved my campsite. I told him that just as they reserve the right to move their customers around he must realize that his customers also have the right to give them a rating that they are not going to like. I asked why he called me – usually when a customer complains management trys to correct the issue. Instead I was berated for my opinion, told that he talked with other people I was camping with and they did not say anything. (Which my companions told me they did not because they did not want to argue – which given the reaction to the text is exactly what would have happened.)

I would only recommend this place if you are wanting to have your RV in rows like sardines. The sewer ports are very close to the road so you will have to park your RV very close to the road; they are also very tall which can cause issues with drainage. Many campers had 2×4 lumber or split PVC pipe to get a high enough angle for drainage. There are a few campfire sites that are supposed to be community firepits but get bogarted by large families. There is one deck area with one picnic table which overlooks the river – but again, it will be taken by the camper closest to it. There is a small staircase to take you to the river but it is at the bottom of a steep grade. Unless you are at one of the riverside campsites there is no view of the river.

One other plus was that the other campers were very friendly and were long-timers having camped there for many months to a year. So if you go, I hope you love it because if you don’t you might get bullied for your opinion.

We will never stay there again.

Riptide RV Resort – Key Largo, FL

Riptide RV Resort | I-95 Exit Guide

I found a good one! Riptide RV Park is located on the Overseas Highway (US 1) at Mile Marker 97.2 in Key Largo, Florida…. one of the best places to fish and snorkling.

There is nothing more relaxing than sitting by the warm waters of Florida Bay and listening to the seagulls while the sun sets magnificently over the bay. The campground is small but it’s a nice, cozy place to stay and away from all the hustle and bustle of bigger campgrounds.

Every site includes Water, Sewer, Electricity, Internet, and Cable. Pets are welcome. There is a daily fee for use of boat ramp and dock.

I recommend this campground and will definitely be staying here again!

Sandy Springs Campground – Stout, OH

We full time travel in our 36′ Class A so we have stayed in many campgrounds in two years, moving every 3 days.

Sandy Springs Campground had beautiful river frontage, 6 clean individual toilet/shower rooms, washer/dryer room, 50 amp and great water pressure. The owner is smart, young and very accommodating. He took us and other campers on his pontoon boat for a 4 hour river ride. It was great.

Sandy Springs Campground is absolutely one of our favorite places because of his hospitality. It’s also a good location for RV rallys. Lots of Room!

Ft. McAllister State Park Campground – Richmond Hill, GA

Ft. McAllister State Park campground is located about 10 miles east of I-95 and south of Savannah on the banks of the Ogeechee River.

The campground has very good dirt roads and large shady campsites among giant live oaks, Spanish moss and salt marsh. The campground is bordered by tidal Redbird Creek, a boat ramp, a fishing dock and a nature trail.

Sites have water and electricity. There is also a dump station. They have good showers. There is a large picnic area with river views and playgrounds, while another boat ramp provides access to the Ogeechee River.

There is also a very interesting restored fort. Visitors can explore the grounds with cannons, a furnace, bombproof barracks, palisades and more, while a Civil War museum contains artifacts, a video and gift shop.

Dan River Campground – Stoneville, NC

My wife and I stayed at Dan River Campground just recently when they opened for the spring/summer. At check-in, we were provided with a map of the campground and campground policies. The policies were very thorough, however not unreasonable. I would imagine the policies are there to ensure the campground can be enjoyed by everyone.

The new owners are very nice. Nothing like the old owner. The campground is well maintained and the natural beauty is amazing. Bathrooms were clean with washers & dryers in each men’s and women’s side. Very convenient to do a quick load of wash.

We will definitely be back.

Kamp Klamath RV Park – Klamath, CA

Kamp Klamath - Klamath, CA | RVBuddy.com

Kamp Klamath is the best park we visited in last year. Everyone here is courteous, friendly and very helpful in choosing activities in the area.

You are in The Redwood Forest surrounded by serene beauty and plentiful trails and sight seeing. Right down the street watch Seals and Whales. Nearby the camp is the nest of an American Bald Eagle. Also, the campground is very near the Mystery Of Trees and Drive-Thru Tree.

One of my absolute favorite parts of camping here in the motorhome is Billy – the Billy Goat. He made me smile everyday. You’ve got to come and see Billy – He’s a Charmer!!!!!

Beverly Beach Camptown Resort – Flagler Beach, FL

I don’t know if their photos were photoshopped, or were taken prior to the last hurricane, but there are no palm trees (or ANY landscaping) at this park. It is just a parking lot.

Sure, it’s by the ocean, which could be nice, but unfortunately during our stay, it was so incredibly windy, it ruined our stay. Our rig was actually damaged by the wind. It was so windy, the sand would pelt you on the beach, and it was impossible to even be outside. All the rigs along the beach have left early. Yes, just bad luck with the weather maybe, but be prepared: it is often windy here. Road noise is a factor as well. Street lights were bright enough to be bothersome at night.

Staff in the office were efficient but not especially friendly. Check in was easy, parking was easy (no pull-throughs, only pull in/back in sites). Sites are gravel/sand with a concrete pad and a picnic table. I’m not sure why they chose to call this a “resort”– there is no pool, no tennis, no pickleball, no shuffleboard, etc. Only restrooms and laundry, which were clean.

All in all, it may be a 4-star location, but not in ANY way a “resort”. (I did not deduct stars for the weather, as that was just bad luck). However, at $155/night for a NON-premium site, it is way over-priced for what they offer, so deducted another star. In fact, of the nearly 30 places I have stayed on this 4-month trip, it is the most disproportionately priced for what you get. Will not stay here again.

**I have stayed at over 25 RV parks and campgrounds along the Florida coast over the last three months…. Look for my other reviews!**
