Christmas RV Park – Christmas, FL

Campground and RV Park Reviews | RVBuddy.com

Christmas RV Park has large, shaded sites with beautiful, mature trees. It’s a dog friendly park, with a fenced doggy play area. Unfortunately, due to the large, loose gravel roads, it is very difficult to walk around (or bike), and terrible for the dogs, so you end up walking on people’s grass, which is not ideal.

If you like to walk (or jog), take the dirt road next to the park down through the gate and walk around the lake (natural preserve open to public)… About a mile or two with lovely natural vistas.

The staff was great, friendly and efficient. The park is in a very remote locale (no stores, restaurants, etc nearby), so if you need something from the grocery store, it’s a 20 minute drive. Handy location if you want to be half-way between Orlando and the beach, (45 minutes to each, in either direction).

The park is mostly quiet and large, with minimal road noise. (They would be wise to enforce the ‘no arrivals after 10pm rule,’ as we were awoken twice in the night by loud late arrivals, one at 2:00am!)

The internet was not good; bring your mifi or hotspot. All in all not a bad park if you like to be away from the crowds. My best advice to the owners: investing in some landscaping would be well worth it: A little privacy between sites would be wonderful, as well as having something nice to look at besides rigs and buildings. It may be the reason this park is at half-capacity while all the others are booked full.

The price per night is also on the high side ($80), another possible reason they are not full.

That said, it was a pleasant stay, and I would stay here again.

After a difficult booking process (terrible website), I finally booked (and got written confirmation) for my upcoming stay. I booked several weeks in advance, and am coming from out of state.

Today, they called me and said they were canceling my reservation because the owner of the space has decided they are coming. With one week to go, there is nowhere else available; everything is booked solid for spring break! Where am I supposed to go now? I guess I’ll be spending my vacation in the Cracker Barrel parking lot, boondocking. This is not how I wanted to spend my vacation! Horrible business practice. DO NOT SUPPORT this place. That is NOT cool!

This was our 2nd time at Lake Park Campground. We love that it is close enough to visit family in the Dallas metroplex.

It has great views of the lake. The sites were level and not too close together. There was a picnic table but no fire ring. Free wifi, but it wasn’t always great. Verizon signal was ok. W/E site with a dump station.

The bathrooms near the front entrance were clean and used a code entry. The laundry room was clean with all machines in working order. The gate does lock at 11pm, so no late nights out!

Great walking trails, frisbee golf, playground, and golf nearby. The only noise we noticed was from the airplanes.

Lake Sara Campground has great owners and is asuch pleasant place to stay. They have a quiet lakefront with a phenomenal shower and bath facility.

We stayed there to attend a fishing tournament and it will now be my go to campground for retreats and resting times. The owners have recently adding more amenities including a pizza and food service, new docks and so much more.

Check in/Check out was easy and very affordable.

I have to agree that there is MUCH room for improvement at this camp. First of all, your GPS/Garmin navigation will try to take you to the end of the road. DO NOT DO THIS. There is a sign for the camp down this road, but it does not tell you which of the three or four options you are supposed to take. It appears that you should go straight, as this is the largest road. DO NOT DO THIS. When you see that second sign, take a hard right. If you miss it, and go straight, be prepared for your Class A motorhome to get stuck under a tree and scrape up the top of your rig and rip your awning. Trust me on that one.

Next, when you do manage to unhook your toad, and turn your rig around in the parking lot of the restaurant at the end of the street, and arrive at the gates; no one is there. Door locked, no one around. I sat there at the gate for a good while before one of the campers offered to help me get in the gate and find my spot. Multiple calls to the office went straight to voicemail and were never returned.

Now let’s talk about the dust. (I know some people have been here during rain and mentioned the pot holes and mud…) yes, all true, but if it hasn’t rained in a while, they do not water or oil the dirt roads. There is dust blowing EVERYWHERE. Everyone’s rigs are covered in dust. Everyone’s tents are covered in dust. The picnic tables, the food, the bikes….. EVERYTHING. Don’t even think about sitting outside….. you will be caked in dust within minutes.

There are also the dangerously low tree limbs as others have mentioned. Also, the park map is not accurate It needs to be re-drawn with all the streets in the correct locations. Also, there are street names on the map, but none on the actual streets so there is no way to tell what street you are on. Also, no indication of which way you must enter your street to have your rig face the right direction. (Normally most places draw a line from the gate to the spot so you can see how to approach). I did it wrong and had to circle around the unnamed streets till I was facing the right way.

All this could have been avoided with better management… or ANY management. I still have yet to see any staff at all. Will update after I’ve been here a few days.

Lake Aire RV Park and Campground – Hollywood, SC

My hubby and I have been coming to Lake Aire RV Park and Campground since the mid 90’s. We have seen lots of changes over the years. The current owners have made and are still making improvements.

The staff in the office are the best. All their employees are hard workers and make sure each customer feels welcomed. They are polite in returning a call and get you where you need to the go. If their is a problem, it’s handled as quickly as possible, to make want to you stay a few more days.

The grounds and facilities are always clean and well maintained. The campground is off the main highway, but there is no road noise, just a few trains from time to time. Not always, just a reminder you are close to town.

We were last there a couple of years ago during the first week in July and took in the 4th of July firework shows. We had a great time.

See you guys this summer. Save a spot for me!

Red Coconut RV Park – Fort Myers Beach, FL

I was SO excited to finally get a space at this park; I had been calling for weeks!

I arrived and they escorted me to my spot which is, LITERALLY, behind the park, in the dumpster area. I am parked next to dumpsters, looking at trash cans and maintenance equipment. To add insult to injury: I am paying the same amount ($70/night!) as the people in the park. I called the office to ask for a discount. Nope. They also treated me very badly at check in. I have a medical condition which prevents me wearing a mask (I have a legal exemption card from my doctor), and they treated me like a leper. I have been to 15 RV parks all across Florida in the last 9 weeks, and this was the first time I’ve been discriminated against.

Very disappointed. I will NOT be back. Periwinkle Park on nearby Sanibel Island was much nicer and they treated me like a human.

Peacock Meadows Riverside RV Park – South Fork, CO

Peacock Meadows is a beautiful Park. They have large lots, a small dog park, and areas to sit by the river.

We stayed there for 2 years. Their rates went up every year, and they are a bit spendy! My husband would volunteered around the park when needed and the first year was nice. I volunteered to host the weekly pot luck dinner and the weekly Bingo game.

The biggest problem with the park became Ron who runs the park! He is one of those people who thinks he know everything. While we were there we had to change lots 3 times. The 2nd year we were there he started harassing us about several things, so we left. I asked that if we received any mail to let us know so we could come and get it, they let us know one time. I later found out I had more mail sent there after that and they did not tell us. It’s a shame the owner Dave does not know how much money he is losing because of Ron!

Butterfield RV Resort and Observatory – Benson, AZ

This is the best RV park in Arizona! They have daily activities at times that are super convenient and accommodating, as well as nightly activities that are fun and convenient.

The resort is super clean and the staff is incredibly friendly and loving. Across the street is the post office with the nicest postal clerk on the planet and next door to the park is Safeway (how convenient is that!) you can walk there too. Within walking distance is a great Mexican place and you can ride your bicycle to Walmart as it’s only about 3 blocks from the park.

The park’s laundry facilities are conveniently located across from the rv spaces, and yet in the same building as the clean restrooms and showers as well as the library, tv room/lounge, kitchen, coffee and tea, and modern workout room… so it’s all just too wonderful to believe!

Open to all guests, The Observatory at Butterfield RV Resort features a Meade LX-200 GPS 16 inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. This university quality installation is housed in a 15’ diameter electrically operated dome.

This is truly the very best park in the entire state of Arizona and if you want to feel incredibly blessed, welcomed, and like you are “family” spend some time at this park.

McKinney Campground – Acworth, GA

This campground is absolutely wonderful! The property is clean and beautiful. The location is convenient, off I-75 in Georgia, North of Atlanta. I was pleasantly surprised to see the deer. All sites have water and 30 or 50 amp electric. Bathrooms are clean. Many sites for larger motorhomes. Several pull-throughs.

The variety of sites with over 100 to choose from and almost 2/3 are reservable online at www.recreation.gov or by telephone. They also have walk-up sites that you can get the day you want to camp. Great care has been taken on the grounds. For us, we were glad to see that the gate locked at 10:30 pm during the summer which made us feel safer. Many campgrounds have no gate.

The four campground attendants we met were both professional and courteous. However, they do ask that you follow the guidelines and rules of the Corps that are printed on the back of the green map. While we were at the window checking in, there were customers who were very rude to the attendants who were trying their best to explain “Please park your car behind the other customers and come up to the front window to register.” Many wanted to argue and insist they didn’t need a parking pass and could just drive through to tour the park or visit their friends. I now understand why I have seen poor reviews of this campground. The campers don’t want to follow the rules. They want their dogs off the leash, park anywhere, stay after visiting hours, and not stand in line. And still, it was one of the best campgrounds we have ever visited.

Atlanta, Georga is nearby; a day trip to Tennessee; and many small historic towns nearby.

Overall, once we got to our site and began to camp, we had a great time.
