I recommend it!

Yosemite Pines RV Resort – Groveland, CA

Last summer our family took our RV on the road so we could enjoy our stay where ever we are. We have room for five to sleep comfortable. I just loved Yosemite Pines RV Resort! We had a choice of full hook-ups or just water/electricity. We selected the full hookup because the costs were so reasonable.

There were quite a few other RV families like us, and everyone got together and had a fine time. Our children met others the same age and were able to swim and play sports together. We met people we will stay in contact with. When the kids were out using up their energy, us more sedate folks took in a movie.

Yosemite Pines RV Resort has something for everyone it seems. They have these huts and places to pitch a tent. They have very nice cabins that sleep up to 10 or 12. And you get to choose what kind of slot you want for your RV. Since we didn’t have to worry about it being too warm, we choose a place where we had beautiful outdoor views.

The staff and management were very accommodating. They told us about things we could do in the area as well as just visiting Yosemite. When we drove through Yosemite it was more than I expected. The snow capped mountains looked like they should be in a Hollywood movie. The kids were interested in all the Indian names for cities and creeks.

We had our own fire pit where we could cook out and different folks took turns cooking for the others. It was wonderful! Yosemite RV Park has a very homey feeling for those who are away from their actual homes.

Lake Aire RV Park and Campground – Hollywood, SC

Lake Aire RV Park | RVBuddy.com

Lake Aire RV Park and Campground was a beautiful park located just south of downtown Charleston, South Carolina.

They have 92 large, level sites with picnic tables and fire rings. They also have 18 tent sites. Our kids really enjoyed the playground and pool. We enjoyed a nice quiet night by the campfire.

Amenities also include: a stocked private lake (catch and release), public use charcoal grills, a large pavilion, horseshoe pits, bocce ball and FREE wireless internet. The campground is also pet-friendly!

Lake Aire RV park is about 20 minutes from historic downtown Charleston. It makes an excellent base camp for one-day trips to local plantations, Ft. Sumpter, historic Charleston or Folly Beach. There are many points of interest nearby. You could probably spend several weeks exploring this part of the state.

We will be returning. We have been to mostly all the parks in the Charleston area and this one was the friendliest, cleanest, and still “natural.”

Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping – Mackinaw City, MI

Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping | RVBuddy.com

Mackinaw Mill Creek is a very large, well run campground. The property is huge, about 200 acres. We had a lakeside site that was simply spectacular! This is the third time we have camped here and it won’t be our last.

Check-in is fast and the employees were always friendly. They have some very large RV sites (40′ x 60′), a very nicely stocked camp store and a great arcade for the kids. The campground also has miles of very scenic trails and roads inside the property. Check out the Mackinaw Bridge at sunset… it’s absolutely beautiful.

The campground has a restored 1940s era fire truck. Most evenings, they give rides to campers through the park. Amenities also include a heated pool, wi-fi, vollyball, three playgrounds, carriage bike rentals, sandy beaches, and lots of places to explore! Don’t forget to bring your bike… this is a big campground and it will come in handy.

We love it here and plan on making this a regular stop every summer!

Cummins Ferry Resort Campground & Marina – Salvisa, KY

Campground and RV Park Reviews | RVBuddy

Cummins Ferry Resort Campground and Marina is one of Kentucky’s newer campgrounds. It’s located about 45 minutes south of Lexington on the Kentucky River Palisades.

This past July our family stayed there for several days. Being a newer campground, the facilities are in excellent condition. The roads and RV sites are paved and level. They have a very nice marina and some pretty good fishing!

Our drive-thru site had full hook-up (50amps). The campstore was well stocked when we were there and had a good selection of groceries and camping items. They also have a pool, playground, showers, laundry room and a pavilion.

We like to camp here because it’s located in Central Kentucky and within driving distance of many places, such as Old Fort Harrod State Park in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. There are also many local attractions and a variety of outdoor recreation activities close by.

The campground is a not too big…  it’s just right for us. We plan to return next fall.

Lake Huron Campground – Carsonville, MI

Lake Huron Campground | RVBuddy.com

Lake Huron Campground is a very large and modern RV park. They have 395 sites, but there are a lot of open spaces during the week. I’ve heard on holiday weekends it fills up, but otherwise it’s not very crowded.

The campground has a general store, arcade, heated pool and a nice size lake with a beach area. There are also cabins to rent on the other side of the lake. They have weekend planned activities, mostly for the kids, but they had a Murder Mystery Weekend while we were there, which was fun for the adults too. They also have basketball, volleyball, horseshoes and a playground for the kids. Mini-golf is on site and open to the public, as is the Pizza Cafe and the ice cream shop.

This campground is gated (you will need a code to get in), which we liked. It is one of the cleanest campgrounds we have been in, and the restrooms were a surprise; slate floors, redwood benches in the heated showers. Very nice details. Same with laundry areas.

It’s a little out of the way, a good half hour north of Port Huron and an hour and a half from Detroit, but it was an enjoyable discovery. Glad we stopped here and plan to go back later in the fall.

Kissimmee/Orlando KOA – Kissimmee, FL

Orlando-Kissimmee KOA | RVBuddy.com

The Kissimee/Orlando KOA is is a beautiful campground! It’s also fairly new (about 15 years old). There use to be an old KOA in this location but it was sold and a Sam’s Club was built on the site.

This campground was built just to the south of the old one, right on heavily traveled, highly commercialized US 192. While it’s right in the middle of all the attractions, shops and restaurants, it’s set back far enough to be private and give you a little campground atmosphere.

The facilities are very nice… everything is clean and well maintained. The sites were comfortably large with plenty of pull thru spaces for large rigs. Interior roads are paved and in excellent condition. This campground also has a good mix of amenities including WiFi.

The staff was friendly and accommodating.

We will definitely consider this campground the next time we visit the Disney area.

Lake Pines RV and Campground – Midland, GA

Campground and RV Park Reviews | RVBuddy.com

Over 13 years of full timing and never have we experienced such blatant false advertising like we did at this park. The pictures they feature must be years or even decades old!

Let’s start with what the owners advertise.

1 – BIG RIG FRIENDLY. Not even a little bit! First you better not miss the entrance. If you happen to pass the turn into the park be prepared to have to unhook your tow vehicle and back up. There is no way to turn around. Once you get turned onto the very narrow lane leading into the park hold on to your seat you are in for a bumpy ride. Between the speed bumps that are not marked and blend into the road and countless pot holes throughout the entire park your rig will be rocking and rolling. Once you finally make it to your spot watch out for the 4 ft posts that are on the corner of every patio. Not only do these posts make it hard to pull in you need to make sure your slides will clear them as well. Another wonderful feature of these high priced *premium* sites is that your neighbors electric, water, and yes, sewer hookups are ON YOUR patio!! I also hope you don’t mind a dirty coach. We experienced both the dry dust that is constantly flying whenever anyone drives by and also the massive mud holes that splash everywhere when it rains. You have two options for sites. Full sun and a somewhat level *ish* site or shade and not even close to level sites. The shaded sites have many trees that are constantly dropping pine cones, acorns and dead branches. There was a travel trailer with an entire tree across the roof that we were told had fallen in the last storm. The *premium* sites are so close together that your neighbors slides hang over your patio. The roads throughout the park are in such bad shape there is no way anyone with limited mobility or a disability can safely navigate the rocks and potholes. There are no walking paths or trails within the park to go from one area to another so you must walk on the roads.

2 – FREE WiFi, yes technically they do have WiFi but they fail to mention that you must sit on the porch at the front of the office to pick up signal. Also an employee mentioned that we are only allowed to briefly check our email while connected to their WiFi. While on the front porch we also noticed many, many packages. All of the campers packages were just left sitting out in the elements and free for anyone to take. I would take caution if getting any mail delivered while staying here as we witnessed several people just walking up and taking boxes with no one verifying that they were the actual intended recipient.

3 – LAUNDRY FACILITIES . Very, very dated and in need of a complete overhaul as in tear down and rebuild. Access to building is a little treacherous for us older folks and there are steps up to the 3 washers and 3 dryers. All six machines are well beyond needing replaced. There is no change machine and good luck catching someone actually in the office to get quarters.

4 – FISHING. There is a small pond at the entrance of the park. It’s only a few feet deep, full of turtles and very, very small crappie. It’s catch and release so again technically there is fishing but should be listed as children’s practice fishing. It’s defiantly not the lazy afternoon siting and fishing we were hoping for.

5 – POOL. That is exactly it. There is a pool with a concrete deck surrounded by a chain link fence. Everything about the pool and pool area is very old and in need of serious TLC. There is no shade, the only seating is one dilapidated bench and a table with no chairs. There is no public restroom so if you need to use the bathroom hopefully you are not staying on the other side of the park. Also the only dumpster in the entire park is located next to the pool. It was overflowing with trash and trash all around it on the ground the entire time we were there. The smell of hot trash wafting through the park is not anything I wish to experience again.

6 – CHILDREN’S PLAYGROUND. To be honest I’m not sure how this playground can even be allowed. It’s in disrepair and looks to be a major safety hazard. I know if I had small children they would not be allowed anywhere near the entire play area.

7 – PET FRIENDLY. We were told that our dog was not allowed to use the bathroom on the grass at our site because it would kill the grass. We were also informed for *safety* reasons we were not allowed to keep our 5 lb dog on the patio with us in a portable play yard. There are many cats freely roaming the park and love to leave paw prints all over your tow vehicle.

So to sum up our stay at this very over priced campground only one word comes to mind, disappointment!!

In hindsight I wish I would of taken photos but leaving a review never crossed my mind, we are just not those type of people I guess, but upon our departure the owners asked us to please leave a positive review because they have been receiving many negative reviews lately. They also shared with us that they actively try to get negative reviews removed from different sights. The thought of that just didn’t sit well with us so we decided to tell about our experience. I hope that this review stays up long enough that others like us don’t make the mistake of looking at pretty pictures on their sight and are sorely disappointed when they arrive.

Yosemite Pines RV Resort – Groveland, CA

Yosemite Pines RV Resort | RVBuddy.com

We were planning our trip to Yosemite National Park and a lot of people suggested that we book our stay at the Ahwahnee. But for a family of 8, it was a tad overpriced and we decided to opt for the cheaper Yosemite Pines Resort. The call was made and we booked the luxury cabin. It being off season, we got the cottage for $259 which is amazing considering that you are living in a full size cottage that can house 8 people.

We were greeted by the bellman who was very courteous and accompanied us to our cabin. The cabin was picturesquely located. It had a rustic feel to it which was complimented by the right furniture. The beds were heavenly with clean linen and the kitchen is as good as your own.

Yosemite is an hour’s drive away but the drive is well worth the wait. Stop and click some pictures. We went for hiking trips and kids loved the mountain biking trails. The ambiance was amazing. We could feel the Yosemite air while we enjoyed our barbecues in the evening.

Did I forget to mention the petting farm? If you are pet lover, then you gotta visit this place. The alpacas are so gentle and beautiful.

If you are looking for a pleasant stay for a cheap price, then this is a great choice. I would certainly recommend it to my friends and relatives.

Loon Lake Lodge and RV Resort – Reedsport, OR

Loon Lake RV Resort | RVBuddy.com

My family has a travel trailer that we hitch to our truck and travel just about anywhere we want to go. We have two pre-teen boys and they just love to camp out. After doing a little research we discovered that Loon Lake Lodge had hookups for our camper and they also had tent sites and yurts. The boys wanted to pitch a tent, but we got them a yurt for themselves. It had bunkbeds which was much better for them than sleeping on the ground – in my opinion anyway. They even had a little refrigerator where they could keep their water and soft drinks cold and a microwave for evening popcorn snacks.

Our site was perfect for our needs. We are pretty much self contained, but we did need to be near the facilities. Which we were. The boys rented a paddleboat one afternoon and their father took them fishing every morning. Then one evening we had an early dinner and drive the few miles to the Dean Creek Elk Viewing Area. The brochure said one of the best times to see the heards was right before sundown, do we parked and had a great vantage point. It was very educational for the boys to see wildlife as it should be – without interference from humans.

In our camper area we met some very nice people and the boys also found some children their own ages to pal around with. Everyone was friendly, including the management. There isn’t anything they could have done to make us feel more welcome. Our set up was easy and worry-free.
