Lake Stephens Campground and Marina – Beckley, WV

Lake Stephens Campground | RVBuddy.com

I must tell you about Lake Stephens Campground… we fell in love with this place. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful and the park has a great layout.

Lake Stephens Campground is about 9 miles from the town of Beckley. The campground is part of Lake Stephens Park, a 2300 acre County operated complex with a 300 acre mountain lake surrounded by 2000 acres of hardwood forest. It’s located in the heart of the Southern West Virginia Coal Country.

The campground is a fairly good size, with about 100 full hook-up RV sites and 27 tent sites. There is a nice campstore, located near the entrance, with a good selection of groceries and camping supplies including ice, wood, and propane. Amenities include a shower house, playground area and basketball court. The facilities are clean and well maintained. Most of the sites are large enough to accommodate your RV plus parking for two vehicles.

Lake Stephens Campground is opened from May 1st to October 31st with electricity the only utility available in RV campground October 15 to April 15. Campground stays are also limited to 14 days during this time period. We’ve camped here several times and, with a little luck plan on going back this summer. We can’t wait!

Klamath Falls KOA – Klamath Falls, OR

Klamath Falls KOA is very clean, with nice looking and well maintained grounds and a friendly staff.

Campsites have grass and a picnic table though they are a little too close together. The restroom facilities are clean, as well as the good sized laundry room. Prices in the camp store are fair. There is not a lot to the playground. Pets are allowed and there are dog walks. The pool is nice and clean though it’s not heated.

We enjoyed our stay in a 5th wheel last August.

Betty’s RV Park – Abbeville, LA

Betty's RV Park | RVBuddy.com

Betty’s RV Park may be small but it has, by far the most friendly and acommodating host anywhere! If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind camping experience, this is it!

This campground was established in 1999. It began as a 4-site RV Park and has since grown to a 17-site park, offering full hookups. A modem hookup offers RVers the opportunity to communicate with their families and friends while on the road.

From the moment you arrive here you get the feeling you’re in for something special. Betty greets you with her unique Southern Hospitality and she’ll go out of her way to make sure your stay is fun and informative. Every afternoon guests get together on her patio, have a drink and get to know each other.

Betty is always around to give you her expert advice on places to go and things to see in the area. And, if you’re lucky, she will make some of her famous Gumbo. We feel like we’ve discovered a hidden gem when we found Betty’s R.V. Park. Will we be back? Try and stop us!

Twin Oaks RV Park – Elko, GA

Twin Oaks RV Park | RVBuddy.com

Twin Oaks RV Park is a nice, clean and well maintained campground.

The new owners seem to be making improvements including 2 new bath houses with instant hot water… and it never run out. Amenities include a seasonal pool, a large hot tub, a community room, a living room with big screen satellite TV, comfy sofas, a large selection of books and games, and two dining-type tables to play on.

The laundry was clean and is open 24/7 ($2.00 per load). There is also a clubhouse with full kitchen and grill. There are 2 horseshoe pits and corn hole set. There are 64 FHU sites, most with 50amp. 35 are pull-thru, the back-ins are more shady and have woods behind them. The sites are large enough, and have picnic tables (some with shade umbrellas), on concrete or paver patio pads. There are grass strips in front and behind the patios. Sites either have a fire ring, or they will provide one.

Our site was level and long enough for our rig and toad. The sites and interior roads are gravel/dirt and in good condition. They do not have cable, but got OTA stations from Macon.

They have WiFi, and quite a few connections, but the WiFi was pretty much useless – so slow! The other negative is that since it is so close to I-75, there is a lot of traffic noise. We still slept well with windows closed and fan on in RV. We will definitely stay there again!

$40.00 but offer Good Sam, Passport America discounts. Website: www.twinoaksrvpark.com, phone: 478-987-9361.

Brattleboro North KOA – Brattleboro, VT

Brattleboro KOA | RVBuddy

Brattleboro North KOA is located on US Route 5 about 3 miles north of the town of Brattleboro, Vermont. It is a very easy on or off of Intersate 91 either north or southbound.

This campground is perhaps one of the cleanest and best kept KOAs we have ever visited. The sites are well-spaced, hookups are modern and include cable ($). The grounds, showers, restrooms and laundry are always in excellent condition. There is a crystal clear pool and a small playground. This particular KOA does not have a large recreational program, so it is a great place to use as a quiet and relaxing base to explore the beauty of southern Vermont.

We travel from Central Massachusetts several times a year just to have a relaxing weekend at this facility.

Rose Valley RV Ranch – Silver City, NM

Rose Valley RV Ranch | RVBuddy.com

We discovered Rose Valley RV Ranch on the Internet. Their website looked like it was just what we were looking for so we decided to spend a few days there. The campground is located in southwest New Mexico in the town of Silver City.

The property is “comfortable” and it looks like the owners spent quite a bit of time and effort in making it a cut above the rest. The facilities are very clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to be helpful.

The ranch has great scenery and there are many interesting sites to see nearby.  Rose Valley has Wi-Fi, which is something we always look for in a campground as we are on the road quite a bit and need to communicate with friends and family throughout the country.

Other amenities include a laundry, a bath house, walking trails, and group facilities. The campground is also pet-friendly.

The campground is Big-rig friendly too, with 69 back-in and pull-thru sites and 20′ of green space between each one! We’ll be back!

Moose River Campground – St Johnsbury, VT

We stayed at Moose River Campground for 2 months, July and August, 2019.

It’s a great place, the owners are onsite and friendly. The workers are onsite and keep the place spotless… grass mowed, restrooms clean, washing machines new and worked well. We had a river site and it really is a river site, very close and we could hear the rushing water from our motorhome. It was cool and even though we normally need 50 amp, we did well on 30 amp, and never needed an A/C.

The campground rules are enforced for all and that is good. That’s one of the things we always look for when camping and always appreciate the courtesy and respect of our fellow campers. Pets are welcome here and everyone uses leashes and picks up after them.

We are from Texas and really enjoyed Vermont, the cool temperatures, quaint villages and the very green landscapes.

French Quarter RV Resort – New Orleans, LA

French Quarter RV Resort | RVBuddy.com

Here’s a great RV park that’s literally 2 blocks from the French Quarter! It’s easy to find (you can see it from I-10) at exit 235A, and the access roads are wide and ez for big rigs.

Inside the park the sites are all paved with bricks, and the clubhouse is beautiful, with a lush courtyard and pool. Each site has a screened wood gazebo. We found the campground to be surprisingly quiet considering it is right next to the Interstate. The security guard made it easy to sleep, as we felt very safe inside the resort.

This is undoubtedly the most convenient location in New Orleans for exploring the French Quarter. Rates are comparable to similar resorts we have stayed at in Florida, and a bargain compared to the local hotels in such a touristy city. We could only stay one night this trip, but we will be back in this summer!

Ramblin’ Redwoods RV Resort – Crescent City, CA

Campground and RV Park Reviews | RVBuddy.com

If you haven’t actually stood beside a California Redwood, you will be overwhelmed by these incredible trees. The Ramblin’ Redwoods RV Resort is nestled into a fantastic Redwood grove, just minutes from Redwood National Park and the spectacular Northern California Coast.

We stayed here in our RV about 12 years ago and just returned again. The resort has made some improvements, and it’s obvious that they’ve spent a great deal of time and money. The place is fantastic… much nicer than our last time here. Everything is clean and looking good, including the Wi-Fi and cable TV.

Sites are large, level and secluded, with lots of space, trees, and ferns between us and our neighbors. They have 50-amp full-hook-up sites, with room for any size RV (ours is 43′ long, so that’s important to us). The Redwoods tower overhead, making campsites really feel like part of the forest. There is also a large, open, grassy area in the middle of the resort, making for a nice mix of forested and pastoral environments.

There are also lots of secluded, wooded tent sites, plus modern (and very luxurious) cabins with nice covered decks. Since this is an area we’d love to share with our families, the cabins would be perfect for us to host family without them having to stay on the RV or in a tent. The manager was nice enough to show us inside one.

We will definitely come back to this park any time we visit Northern California’s Redwood Forest.
