Barr Lake RV Park – Brighton, CO

Campground and RV Park Reviews | RVBuddy.com

Barr Lake RV Park is off of I-76. The Campground is close to the Prairie Center shopping with restaurants and a hospital. It’s easy access to Denver and Denver International Airport.

The campground has laundry facilities on site, 4 washers and 5 dryers. Only 3 washers can be used at the same time. I was told that there are problems with sewage backing up. playground, showers and restrooms. They also have a dump station. I do not know office hours as they are not consistent. For having 2 management staff and one maintenance personnel this park leaves a lot to be desired. There were tree branches laying all over the ground, the picnic tables old, warped and paint chipped and peeling.

There were dogs running all over the park and dog poop everywhere ( be careful where you step). It’s mostly one of the Managements large dog that’s pooping everywhere and not being picked up.

There were problems with the water being shut off without notice for several hours at a time. I called several times to report the problem, but management went home early with the maintenance guy to start day drinking again.

Goethe Trailhead Ranch RV Campground – Dunnellon, FL

We loved our stay at Goethe Trailhead Ranch Campground. They have super nice ladies running the place.

The campground has a quiet, clean atmosphere with grass lots. The bathhouse was one of the cleanest I’ve ever been in. They also have a sparkling pool which is a great bonus. We enjoyed the state forest trails across the street for hiking.

It’s an overall good location to town (about 15 minutes away) but out of the way where you still feel like you are camping.

I definitely recommend you check it out.

Allatoona Landing Marina and Resort – Cartersville, GA

Great views on the peninsula of Lake Allatoona. These amazing views could have made up for this resorts deficits though in my view were not sufficient to change my overall negative review.

There are very few sites that have sewer hook-ups at this park. Every Tuesday, they have a service that costs $25 to dump both gray and black water tanks. Most of the sites are unpaved. Most sites are rather highly sloped. A great many of the sites are unpaved.

The restrooms were reasonably clean though not air conditioned. A few of the sites which seemed occupied by longer-term patrons were unkempt with personal belongings. The laundry facility had 3 working, older model, top loading washing machines and 3 very old functioning dryers.

Patrons are largely rule-abiding, though they don’t enforce the two-vehicle limit rule such that certain areas in the campground seemed like a parking lot. Sadly, I experienced a decidedly agitated patron in the laundry room who offered a direct physical threat. Having sought help from the management office, I was unable to feel comfortable that they would control the agitated man whose profanity and direct physical threats were of great concern.

Feeling unsafe, I left the campground early without an offer of an apology by the campground or a refund for the days unused.

Crazy Acres Campground at Beaver Spring Lake – Davenport, NY

New owners at Crazy Acres Campground are doing a fantastic job of updating and improving this park!

Recently they have added a teepee, another cabin, fantastic WiFi, pool improvements etc. etc. Also they have added more 50 amp sites! We camped on a 30 amp full hookup site and ran our air conditioning with no problems.

Crazy Acres is located just outside of Oneonta and the drive to Cooperstown is beautiful… traveling through lovely countryside. I bet this area looks great in the Fall!

Kenisee Lake Thousand Trails Campground is the cleanest RV park I have ever been to.

The bathrooms and facilities are so clean, and the grass is always cut. The staff is respectful and know what they are talking about!

The campground is surrounded by beautiful foliage and water views… it’s the perfect getaway for couples, friends, and families.

They have plenty of campsites, from heavily wooded sites, clear and open camping, or scenic sites with a water view.

I will 100% be back here, if you have not been here, come!

Friendly Staff, beautiful views and clean restrooms and showers made Chinook RV Resort a place we will definitely return too anytime we are traveling.

The nearby area has lots of activities so everyone in your camping party can find something interesting to do.

Hiking the many trails is a great way to see the area scenery and wildlife like Roosevelt Elk. Pick wild sweet blackberries July – September, Attend the Salmon Festival – August, canoe or kayak the river and streams or book a Jet Boat Tour for close up views of Bald Eagles, Osprey, seals and otters.

Fish the Klamath River for the day and land a Spring or Fall Chinook Salmon or beach fish for Red Tail Perch… or view the breath taking Northern California coastline.

Stone Mountain Heights RV Park is conveniently close to Atlanta and Stone Mountain Park!

The campground is quiet, and they have spacious sites, (but not much shade). The staff is friendly and professional.

This former trailer park is primarily an RV Park now with nice level sites, quality utilities (high water pressure-bring a regulator).

Heceta Beach RV Park – Florence, OR

When we checked in Heceta Beach RV Park management told us we would have to move in five days because someone had requested our site. So we moved two sites over which was narrower than the old site.

Our motorhome is 42’. We were crowded and had a hard time getting the slides out. Then we found out a small camper moved into the old site and it was their first time here. The new people stayed two nights and we were there for ten days. The site was was more than enough for that small camper. So they the new people had not requested that site. Really poor customer service!

This morning I called the owner asking why we needed to move. No harsh words were spoken between both of us. Then the owner came over and said we have to leave. He credited us for today. Will NOT stay there again!

Searsport Shores Camping Resort – Searsport, ME

Searsport Shores Camping Resort had received a good review in a magazine and looking at the website we thought this would be a great place for kids! What a joke! We had just returned from a campground in New Hampshire that had loads of activities for the kids, was neat and tidy and the people were friendly! Then we arrived at Searsport.

This campground bills itself as a family campground on the ocean. First of all, don’t expect a sandy beach it is very rocky. The kids had fun looking for crabs, but it isn’t a good place to swim.

In terms of “activities” for the kids – they had a “walk” to the state park one day – no one else showed up so we went as a family – that was okay – that was the activity for the day! The next night the one activity for the day was a fairy/documentary sort of movie. Not very exciting for two boys.

We had booked for 5 nights and realized that this campground is more of a stopover point or a place for two nights. We asked to get our money back and leave a couple days early. That was not permitted as they are running a “business”. There is a lot this business could do to improve. The sites are $48, 58 or 68 dollars depending on the “ocean view” – they are charging resort prices for absolutely no amenities. I know they are promoting “family” camping, and while I don’t expect my boys to be too highly stimulated, if they are charging that price, they should be offering something for it.

The lawns aren’t cut, the sights are small, with potholes. They don’t give you any information for families to do in the area, not many kids at all there, not a lot around, no pool, etc. It is just very hokey.

If you do go – don’t book – just go – they had at least 50 empty sites on a Saturday night in mid-July and the rest of the week, many, many sites. Don’t make the mistake we did and book for a block – believe me, if you want to stay there will be a site available! We left a day early and lost our money. Our boys were much happier at the next campground.

We really like Orchard Ranch RV Resort. The staff is friendly and helpful and the ammenities are great.

The weather is fantastic too. We play a lot of Pickle Ball and their court is really nice. The Salt water pool is also nice. They actually have three activity buildings so there is always plenty to do.

I am looking forward our next stay there.
