This campground is terrible. No one should ever go there! Now, if you believe that, perhaps this fantastic place will never fill up and we can always get a spot here.
If you are coming from New York, take the ferry from Plattsburg. When you get off the ferry turn left and go down the road less than a mile and you have arrived.
There are about 60 or so sites ranging from full service (no cable) to tents. Some of the sites are right on the lake and others are only a few steps away. The campground roads are more than adequate. The sites are level and carpeted with a beautiful lawn. The restrooms and showers are clean, but small. The owner is one of the most helpful we’ve encountered. He will do almost anything to make your stay enjoyable.
Alpine RV Park has full hookups, a laundry, and free wireless, yet cheaper than the State Parks! What more could you want? The wireless was a little slow, but at these prices ($20 per night), you can live with it! Also, you have clean air and are in a little valley surrounded by the Cascade Mountain range. On the other hand, the park has no cable TV and no television reception whatsoever. Hope you have satellite or a good book. Cash or checks only.
